To be fair Jerry had her own taste of stardom pre Bryan Ferry and Mick Jagger(although the image of rock chick will probably always haunt her!) she was one of the early super models commanding large fees and before becoming tangled with rock stars lived with Grace Jones in Paris lighting up the catwalk. While she is obviously a strong woman,she must have felt a certain humiliation when she found out that the wedding ceremony to Jagger was not legal!
Murdoch although not a rockstar,presumably re- opens doors to the world of private jets ,limos and exotic private islands that only very big money can buy(certainly not 10 million!!). Will it make her happy as she lies exhausted and flushed in Ruperts arms......who knows but I bet she thinks its worth a shot.

Call me cynical, but this strikes me as a publicity stunt (on his side) and naivety (on her side). I have met her quite a few times and she strikes me as sweet but probably a bit gullible.

I used to work for one of Murdoch's organisations and I have never been in such a toxic environment. Toxicity practically oozed out of the air conditioning system.

Strikes me that the old rogue needs some good PR right now. Judging by the public response whenever the Madeleine McCann story crops up, Murdoch really is in need of some 'reputation management'.

And let's face it, his face alone is not going to sell papers. But with strikingly photogenic blonde Gerry Hall draped around him - well that's a different story.

Nothing better than a good (or even bad) celebrity wedding to bury bad news!

That was a pretty sly move on the part of the old mover and shaker - especially when you consider how much he is worth and the fact that they had three (I think - ETA - four in fact) children together.

Still, if a marriage does go ahead between her and Murdoch ( ) I can't imagine that Murdoch will be so clouded by love and lust that he will forget to arrange for a pre-nup, ahem! He, of all people, will presumably be lawyered up to the hilt.

Just the type Jerry needs\ed no doubt. She seems attracted to strong powerful men. Real men who other mortals,if lucky enough ,can only hope to serve! If anyone manages to get close enough perhaps by employment or praise be,marriage to these Olympians,they might just absorb some of the magnificence radiated by them! But for people like Jagger or even better Murdoch the rest of ous would be adrift,all alone in a meaningless universe....or certainly without a job! Jerry is from a lost branch of Texan nobility set apart by having ordinary parents,and woken by the benevolent power of media moguls.

No I don't mind you asking! I met Jerry Hall (and also Mick Jagger!) through several connections. One was a school connection. On this note I will share a little anecdote. The pair used to turn up at school events quite frequently. The head at the time was embarrassingly (imo!) sycophantic and if Mick Jagger (in particular) was in attendance he was treated like royalty. It was quite cringeworthy really. I think there was a hope that the sly old rogue would delve deep into his notoriously stitched-up pockets and make a huge donation to a theater or performing arts scholarships or some such.

As far as I know, he made no donations at all. There are no theaters with his name attached or whatever. So he certainly lived up to his reputation with respect to the stitched-up pockets.

Another connection was/is a business connection related to my partner's line of business. He has met Jerry Hall in particular on many occasions.

And yet another connection is through Jerry Hall's divorce lawyers ( ) which is just one of those random social connections although I dare say one would not recommend them as the sly old mover and shaker actually managed to wriggle out of even being married. Given that the pair had taken part in a wedding ceremony so to all extents and purposes they both must have considered themselves 'married' I think this was an especially ingenious and sly move on the part of Jagger's divorce team!

Glad I have piqued some interest! I worked for a Murdoch organisation for nearly five years. At the time (this was many years ago - it might be better now) it was notorious for being a pretty toxic place to work. It was particularly 'cut throat' but at the same time, imo, incredibly badly run with very poor leadership. There was just a bad vibe about the whole place and it was incredibly uncreative.

Just seen on the internet that Mick Jagger apparently claimed the Married Man's Tax Allowance whilst 'married' to Jerry but didn't hesitate to claim the marriage wasn't legal when the thought of money slipping through his fingers began to surface. I can't think that Jerry is that bright not see where Jagger's priorities lay so let's hope she makes sure it's the real thing this time.

Like I said, despite his millions he most definitely was not a generous benefactor to at least one of the schools that his children attended. When I saw him at school events I was always struck by how self-conscious he was. A man very much controlled by his ego, imo. Also one cannot help but reflect on the rather sad fate of his former girlfriend who I believe is said to have taken her own life over financial worries?

The 'real thing' - sorry but RM's hands are simply covered in dirt, imo. The phone hacking; the Madeleine McCann media circus and so much else besides. IMO the old rogue is desperate for some good PR and desperate to take the news away from the dirty antics of his media empire and onto a celebrity wedding - this time involving himself!

I can only imagine that JH has been beguiled by his power and money cause with the best will in the world he's not a looker, he's the wrong side of 80 and his character leaves quite a bit to be desired, imo.

Out of the frying pan into the fire perhaps? Be interesting to see what the pre-nup arrangement is IF a wedding does actually go ahead. I wonder if RM's family are welcoming JH into the fold?! Equally, I wonder what JH's family make of this 'whirl-wind romance'?

I find it mind-boggling and the FACT that RM is prepared to go so public makes me incredibly suspicious about the motives behind all this.

How on earth can an organisation that purports to help find missing children and people align itself so closely with the family of a child who 'disappeared' in the most suspicious circumstances imaginable?

Just take a close look at those two faces - eek!
