A couple of articles on missing kids from the DM today. Not heard of either of them. Yet the non-existent missing child who nobody reported missing was plastered all over the news.

I'm not going to believe this one until this guy is actually located and positively identified!

Mind you, those of us of a certain age will remember an infamous kidnapped Mormon missionary case in the U K........

I've never heard of this missing boy (from 1989) before - his remains have been found.

No me neither.

Just read it in the Star.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/543113/Jacob-Wetterling-missing-kid-reamins-found-minnesota

And snipped from the end of the article:

The tragic news comes as parents Jerry and Kate McCann revealed their cash crisis which search for Maddie – as fund is down to last £46k

Jerry... But it is the Star.

The sentence doesn't even make sense apart from the wrong name.

"The tragic news comes as parents Jerry and Kate McCann revealed their cash crisis which search for Maddie – as fund is down to last £46k".

Why mention them anyway?

A largely forgotten case from 1999 in which two 10-year-old girls disappeared, only 3 years before the Soham girls, but with a very different outcome.

Previous two posts transferred from Clarence Mitchell topic.

I presume that you meant to include Australia as well, Bampots.

Aussie abduction...

Post  Rosa canina on Sat 17 Sep 2016, 9:33 am

Hello Freedom - I've no idea...! I haven't followed that case, sorry.

Dirty old Straya's quite a way away from here, but it's in that general Antipodean drift, yes.

Hey there, Bampots! I agree there's been a lot of MM-related content originating in New Zealand.

How much of it is real or imagined...?

As I've mentioned before, the only thing is this case that I personally believe to be true

- is that 'Kate McCann' once worked as a doctor down in Wellington.

An odd story but with a happy ending though.

A toddler has been found alive after surviving alone for three days in Siberian forests filled with wolves and bears.
Tserin Dopchut, three, had only a few bites of chocolate stashed in his pocket when he wandered away from his great grandmother and followed a puppy into the Taiga wilderness in the Tuva region of Russia.
A full-scale search for the child was launched with temperatures sinking to freezing point at night.

This seems a bit unlikely. How did the alleged abductor know there was a baby in the house? I suppose she could have followed the mother.

You really couldn't have made this one up.

Actually that's just what Wild West Hogs did with his name!

All ends well for once.

http://portugalresident.com/two-year-old-boy-vanishes-from-outside-grandparents%E2%80%99-house-in-our%C3%A9m

PJ police are investigating the disappearance earlier today of a two-year-old boy from outside his grandparents’ house in the village of Amieira, near Urqueira (Ourém) around 9 am this morning.

For now, the estranged father of the child - resident in France - is not a suspect.

Photographs of Martim Silva are being widely shared on television and via social media, while family members have publicised their mobile phone numbers in a desperate bid for any kind of news.

Information coming via various sources suggests "all possibilities" are being considered.

What is curious is that Martim's mother Sandrina was only awarded custody of her son on Friday. Martim's father is reported to have travelled to Portugal for the hearing. Family members are thus unsure whether he is still in Portugal, or whether he may have sent someone to pick his child up.

Sandrina has described her son as very sweet, the kind of child who would go happily with anyone who was kind to him.

Observador has said that Martim was wearing a blue fleece and grey sweatpants when he went missing.

As PJ police interview family members, agents with sniffer dogs have already been on the ground.

Glad the little one has been found safe and well.

Something fishy involving parental involvement by the looks of it.

OMG just read the second link, what a terrible story, what must that little boy have suffered. Sad   It breaks your heart reading these stories, jeez there are some evil people out there.  They should now be kept the way that poor little boy was kept.

I'm wondering if there is more than meets the eye with the story about the teenagers.

The other story is dreadful.
