I totally forgot all about that and was watching the footy instead.

I'll catch up with it soon at some point.

It does now look definite that this is a three part series, per next week's Radio Times.

Tonight's episode sounds interesting.

I've never heard of these missing boys before.

An American link about this case. It's very irritatingly presented with problems moving from one page to the next but it does raise some interesting points suggesting why the case didn't receive as much publicity as it might have done.

In case anyone notices that this topic has lost a lot of pages, I've transferred to their own topics the cases of the Irish girl Mary Boyle and the Australian girl who was thought could possibly be Madeleine.

I wonder if any of the thoughts going through her head related to a paedophile abductor!

A happy ending to the story.

The link itself does not work, but at the bottom of the page that you go to, which says that the story does not exist, there is a link to the story that does work.

When I tried to copy and paste the URL I got exactly the same link as Andrew has posted, so I think the quotes in the title are causing problems!

It's on here anyway:

Strange one this - police looking for missing 5 year old seen walking alone and a mother frantically searching for her.

http://www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/2017-07-21/concern-after-five-year-old-girl-spotted-walking-along-road-in-redcar/

Then we have this ITV update, most odd..

21 July 2017 at 2:15pm

Police update after sightings of young girl in Redcar

Cleveland Police received a call on Friday morning from a concerned member of the public. He said he had seen a young girl aged around 5-years-old walking along the Coast Road in Redcar.

Police in Redcar have carried out thorough investigations and searches however they have now scaled back these investigations, pending any new information coming to light.

There have been no reports of missing children in the Redcar area or any other calls relating to a missing girl

http://www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/update/2017-07-21/police-update-after-sightings-of-young-girl-in-redcar/

So is this a hoax??

It sounds like a hoax.

Did anyone speak to the woman? If not, how was it known that she was searching for her daughter?

Sadly it Looks like they may have found the remains of Natalee Holloway after 12 years missing. I have watched various documentaries and her mother Beth doing all she could to find her, and she has hosted a programme which was about other missing people.

Natalee Holloway: Human remains find could end 12-year mystery of missing graduate

DNA tests are being conducted to see if the mystery of Natalee Holloway, who vanished in Aruba in 2005, can finally be resolved.

There is something about the phrase "last seen with a convicted murderer" that says this was solved very quickly, the hard part was finding the body and getting proof.

The REAL strange thing is, that presumably her father and a detective found [just before a doc airing early next week ...], what could be human remains, but then exported it out of the country, instead involving / turning over to local police and forensic scientists. In fact, they could be prosecuted for that ...
