The 5 companies that he runs out of his bedroom (that don't appear to do anything - apart from wait to get struck off)... Then maybe one of those is a 'detective agency'.

Hell of a lot cheaper than Metado 3 etc......

Particularly stupid headline in the Daily Star. It would have been okay with something like "possible sighting...." but not a headline which suggests it definitely is Madeleine.

This is pathetic! She was unrecognisable in 2007 thanks to all the conflicting photos, let alone 9 years later.

I'm surprised Kate and Gerry aren't on the first plane out to Paraguay! This is the first lead they've had in a long time ! Kate said she wanted to know what had happened to Madeleine... why aren't they investigating it immediately??

Chatelaine I didn't mean to upset anyone........posting it without explanation of my views on it,in hindsight was silly.
I have deep reservations of the efficacy of systems akin to child rescue alert. They have been in use in other countries and not everyone thinks they are of use. Most of the children they claim to help are "missing" due to parental disputes, and unfortunately if someone is determined to kidnap and abuse a child they still seem able....the alerts just seem to whip up hysteria. It also concerns me the wages paid out by these charities. We have all seen discussion around these issues on the forums. Something to read

The Amber Alert system is more effective as theater than as a way to protect children

So, what are they trying to distract from?

Is it the pending verdict of the court case?

Or is Operation Grange getting too close for comfort?

*Sits back to patiently to await the real news*

Both imo.

I've been thinking for a while that the court case verdict was concluded sometime back which didn't go in the Mc's favour. They're aware of this but in the dark regards to when this will be announced.

I also think Op Grange is closing in and they know that too.

As I've said before (and just my opinion and hunch)..... April.

April is when it all happens.

IMO.

You may be right here Andrew. I always found the words 'For reasons that must remain
quiet' (or words to that effect) strange, when the Gofundme account was closed.

I hope you're both right Andrew & Costello.

It makes sense to me that, in such a complicated case, there would be careful co-ordination between the police forces and the court with regards to timing. If the McCanns lose in court, it frees the media which would impact on Operation Grange and the chances of bringing people to justice. So, while the McCanns may already know that they have lost the case, the result isn't going to be published publicly until it can't affect the outcome of a criminal trial. Perhaps the media are already aware of the McCanns loss which is why they tested the water by allowing the Katie Hopkins comments.

My bet is that the release of the verdict and the conclusion of OG will take place simultaneously or in quick succession.

Interesting this FOI saying it is a full MURDER INVESTIGATION TEAM

rather puts the kybosh on this or any other sighting imo.

Denise Thomson ‏@Syn0nymph  · 1 hr1 hour ago

@NewsBoothNow Seems so according to this FOI response someone received #mccann http://www.met.police.uk/foi/pdfs/disclosure_2016/march_2016/2016010001047.pdf …
