Just giving this a bump because Of the misinformation on twitter by the pros.  Adrian Prout was already in prison and convicted of murder with only circumstatial evidence when he finally/eventually confessed to killing his wife.

Errr no, the judge listened to the jury, who convicted on circumstantial evidence.

Jailed killer Adrian Prout – who always denied any involvement in wife Kate’s disappearance – has agreed to show police where he buried her body after admitting murder.
The wealthy farmer yesterday confessed to detectives in the prison where he has been serving a life sentence since being convicted of the killing in February last year.
The 49-year-old was pictured today under police guard in handcuffs on his 276-acre farm in Redmarley, Gloucestershire, after revealing to officers that he disposed of her remains there.

Just watched that and, well, wow, convicted on less than what police have on the mcs imo.

Nicola Payne  was 18 at the time of her disappearance in 1991,her body as never been found but now some 24 yrs on charges have been brought.

The 15-year-old was reported missing in August 2007, but has never been found.

Three men arrested over kidnap and murder of missing woman

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the kidnap and murder of a young woman who went missing 20 years ago.

Sally Ann John, then aged 23, was working as a prostitute in Swindon's red light district when she vanished on September 8 1995.

Her disappearance was initially treated as a missing persons inquiry but police launched a murder investigation last year.

Wiltshire Police began forensically searching her former home, a flat in Kimmeridge Close in Nythe, Swindon, on Monday.

Detectives revealed they had found several "items of note" during their searches, which finished at 12pm yesterday.

A force spokeswoman confirmed that three men were arrested in connection with Miss John's death this morning.

"Two men aged 50 and 52 years from Swindon, and a 52 year old from Chippenham have all been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder," she said.

"They were all taken into custody at Gablecross Police Station in Swindon where they currently remain."

Techniques used in the searches included ground penetrating radar and the use of blood dogs from South Wales Police.

Following the work, Detective Chief Inspector Jeremy Carter said he was "positive that we are now closer to discovering the truth".

He thanked the occupants of the property, who have no involvement in the investigation, and the local community for assistance and co-operation.

A mobile police unit has been stationed in the area, with people with information about Miss John - or regarding the property - urged to come forward.

Renewed appeal posters have also been distributed around the flat, as well as places Miss John was familiar with, such as the Station Road and Aylesbury Street area where she was last seen.

Speaking last year, Miss John's mother Lesley pleaded for anyone with information about her "bright and beautiful" daughter to come forward.

"That small bit of information might be the key to giving us closure and finally knowing what happened to our girl," Mrs John said.

"It won't bring her back but it will ease our suffering."

i am wondering how good these blood dogs are especially in view that the same thing were used in the Madeline Mcann case, and they were wrong.??

Its a very interesting comment and one that deserves a reply. Where did you see it?

'Hairs found in the tent in February 2014 are now able to be linked to those on Nicola Payne's hairbrush and hairband.

'The combined results were tested from Nicola's parents, her partner and her son. This allowed the prosecution to ID Nicola Payne's unique DNA profile.

So why can't it be done in the Madeleine case.

Also just on crime watch,now advances in mobile phone tracking technology helped convict man who abused and killed his partner,another one without a body.

In this sort of case DNA is only significant when it is found in places where it shouldn't be.

Much the same is going to apply in the McCann case. It might be expected to find her DNA among their possessions, so that in itself wouldn't raise any suspicion.

This famous British case has been omitted from the list. Convictions without a body were very unusual then.

I think that the father in this case was convicted of manslaughter rather than murder but it's another conviction without a body.

I can remember seeing him on TV begging for the baby to be returned safe.

This happened in 1984 when I was a lot less cynical but I'm afraid that, as soon as I heard of the baby's condition, I suspected the parents.

I don't think I've heard about this case before.

I haven't read all this article yet but there does seem to be doubt as to whether the right person was convicted.
