Tory, UKIP and Labour leadership contest
So far we have :-
Boris Johnson 6/5
Theresa May 6/4
Stephen Crabb 7
Andrea Leadson 11
Liam Fox 20
Jeremy Hunt 20
Michael Gove 50
Also Miss Whiplash (Nicky Morgan) is likely to add her name to the list but as of this morning hasn`t made up her mind. On the Today programme just now she was her usual whiplash dictatorial self even saying that she will propose concentrating on the positive aspects of immigration and that she thinks everyone should ! SHE JUST DOESN`T GET IT DOES SHE.

Andrea Leadsom is my only real hope for someone who will get proper Brexit terms - the terms all us leavers voted for.
This is a good piece by Allison Pearson of the Telegraph.

Yesto me es I never seen Andrea before this time , I have seen her hold her own in all she believes in and for ,and I did see her recently ,and liked what she had to say ,seems straightforward and to the point person. Ofcourse who ever gets the vote will have people pulling them apart ,it wont suite all I guess. joyce1938

Re:Tory Leadership Contest.
I really didn't know anything of Andrea Leadsom until I saw her on one of the Brexit debate programmes. I thought she came across as calm and knew what she was talking about, I liked her.
I can't help wondering if things get dirty will we hear why Rebekah Brooks threatened to put Theresa
May on the front cover of the Sun for a week. I also think Boris Johnson is in line for some flak.

Andrea Leadsom tweet a couple of days ago
"Free trade with the EU will be in all our interests. But essential we agree free movement no longer applies to UK. Confident we can do this"
Yep - she my best bet.

No I didn`t know of her until someone suggested her.
I`m not keen on Boris - I don`t think his heart is totally into Brexit - I mean he`s not a tough enough negotiator and will come home empty handed as did Cameron having given way on the very things we leavers voted for.
Do you think RB has got some dirt on Theresa May? I thought she was as pure as the driven snow being a vicar`s daughter an` all

I was for Boris Johnson Mimi, not sure now I think he might just cave in under the Brexit issues. I have to say the more I hear of Andrea Leadsom the more I think she could be the one!

There's something about Theresa May that I can't put my finger on Mimi. So nothing would surprise me.

Thanks for the link Andrew. I can't believe Amber Rudd is now backing Boris Johnson, she tried to tear him apart in a recent EU TV debate.

Re: Tory, UKIP and Labour leadership contest
Michael Gove, who was up until now supporting the Boris campaign for Prime Minister, but he has decided to go on his own, and after supporting Boris for the leadership has now done a u- turn. Put himself in an awkward spot though, because if Boris now wins how can he possibly be elected to a cabinet post which is what would have happened had he not said this.....
Nice eh......... They turn on each other at the drop of a hat!!
Michael Gove:
But I have come, reluctantly, to the conclusion that Boris cannot provide the leadership or build the team for the task ahead. I have, therefore, decided to put my name forward for the leadership

Comment from BBC...
Victoria Derbyshire

Michael Gove may have stopped Boris Johnson from becoming leader of the Conservative Party with his bombshell announcement that he plans to stand too, BBC assistant political editor Norman Smith says.
Norman says if the former London mayor's name had been among the final two on the ballot he would have been "home and dry".
But Mr Gove "may well think: 'I've got a better chance of being the Brexit candidate than Boris Johnson'," he says, adding that many people feel Mr Johnson put his own ambitions ahead of the country.

Well well well. Gove running against Boris who "cannot provide the leadership". Can't wait to hear why

Remember - only 2 candidates go to Tory members for final vote. Suspect Team Cameron will now try to ensure it's Gove & May not Boris

@bbclaurak
This massively helps Theresa May look like unifying, stable candidate while Gove and Johnson fight it out

Wasn't it alleged that unless the home secretary granted the review then Brookes would run a story about her, that skeleton must be still around if true.

Yes I'm thinking that way too Heisenburg. I wonder who Mr Murdoch would prefer as PM. I'm not convinced Theresa May will win this contest.

Mr Murdoch seems to favour Mr Gove. Now this could be interesting.

Re: Tory, UKIP and Labour leadership contest
I think Theresa May will win this - she is very `Conservative` in character and comes across as solid and safe. She gave the McCanns short shrift which is something in her favour. I don`t know if it`s true that she has condoned Sha`ria Law but she must have been off her trolly to say such a thing, if she actually did.
She has said she would create a whole department dedicated to Brexit run by Brexiteers.
I didn`t realise she had Type 1 diabetes and has to inject herself 4 times a day when she eats.
I think she is very `establishment` orientated as we saw with her electing those dodgy judges for the abuse inquiry. She really thinks that any establishment figure is as clean as a whistle and in this regard seems rather naive.
I`m so glad Boris is out of it. Afaic he was a no go from the outset - too shambolic and lecherous. I can imagine him tearing round on his bike after spending the night with some floosie, skidding up to Westminster, late as usual, hair in a mess and making some quip about rugby tackles. No. Sorry. Not a leader of a country. I don`t think he would have taken anything seriously.

Bit of thinking out loud, dangerous I know, but what better way to show your credentials than to be the HS who ordered the review which lead to the arrest's in probably the most known alleged abduction case in the world, not going to happen I know.
