You might not have heard about this one, but it's been in the Daily Mail a bit of late. Here's the latest:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3918014/Earbuds-blonde-hair-strands-hunt-California-mother-two-vanished-jogging-husband-claimed-abducted.html

I can't help but think that the husband is 'responsible' for this.

Time will tell, I guess.

Nothing to do with the husband then.

Snipped:

On November 7th, Keith Papini submitted to a polygraph test. The results of the test indicate he has no involvement with the disappearance of his wife. Detectives have confirmed his whereabouts on the day in question and there is no physical evidence at this time to suggest he was involved.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3969312/California-mother-two-vanished-jogging-SAFE-one-month-husband-report-missing.html

A California woman whose husband reported her missing on November 2 has been found safe according to members of law enforcement.
Sherri Papini, 34, was last seen jogging in Redding, California, and the mother-of-two had not been seen since, with her husband briefly considered a suspect in her disappearance.
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said she was found outside the area and currently being evaluated by medical professionals at a local hospital
She is in stable condition.
Sherri has been reunited with her husband Keith and is currently being questioned by police as they try to determine what happened to the young mother.
A news conference will be held Thursday afternoon.

That is certainly an unexpected outcome to the story.

Hmmmmm..... Not sure what to make of this until some more details emerge.

http://abc7news.com/news/questions-remain-in-sherri-papini-abduction/1624502/

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, the Shasta County Sheriff described Sherri Papini's horrific ordeal.

She vanished while jogging near her home and officials have concluded that she was abducted.

Investigators discovered disturbing clues; Papini's cellphone, earbuds and a few strands of her hair along a rural road.

The 34-year-old mother remained missing without a trace until early Thursday morning when police say her captors released her near Interstate 5 in Northern Yolo county.

"She was bound with restraints," said Sheriff Tom Bosenko. "But was able to summon help from a passing motorist on I-5 near country road 17.

A short time later Papini was reunited with her husband while being treated at a hospital for non life threatening injuries.

Detectives are now focusing on catching Papini's kidnappers and discovering their motive.

The kidnappers were 2 Hispanic women apparently. 1 had a handgun.

Hmmm. I won't be surprised if she faked all this.

My hat is ready to be eaten if needs be!

It looks that way and I had the same thoughts as well.

Shacked up with a lover somewhere for a month is actually what I thought.

When I read the early report on this case at the beginning of November I had a crazy thought that it had elements of the plot of the movie Gone Girl.

Even more crazy is that it still applies...

Interesting link there to someone thought to be the same woman (but not confirmed) who wrote a racist rant about Latinos in 2003.

Funny how there was a reward offered by someone of 50k but the offer was withdrawn the day before she was 'released'. (did that part of the plan backfire then?) The family also set up a GoFund page which accumulated just short of another 50k as well. I wonder what will happen to this money now? Paid back? I doubt it.

A familiar quote from the hubby - 'I could forgive the abductor'

He also promised that she'll be home for Thanksgiving day. And she was. Remarkable foresight.

Hmmmm.......

Sherri Papini: a scam in the making?

Post  Freedom on Sat 26 Nov 2016, 8:58 am

Alarm bells are now well and truly ringing.

https://www.gofundme.com/help-find-sherri-papini?ssid=816888290&pos=1

Friends, Family, and Community:  Please Help us in Raising Money to BRING SHERRI HOME SAFE.  All Funds will go directly to the Papini family and will be used for search efforts to Find Sherri and to Help bring her home Safely.  Every Dollar Counts as time is critical.  Thanks!

It was set up by her husband. As in a certain other case, why would money be needed to fund searches when the police were working flat out to try to find her?

I know that he passed a lie detector test but I now believe that it was a plan cooked up by both of them to raise money.

P.S. I've given this its own topic as I think it's worthy of one.

I reckon the whole family cooked this one up for financial gain. Bit short for Xmas this year probably.

Thanksgiving is an expensive time of year in America too.

P.S. This bit in the article about the name in the racist blog does not appear to be true.

"In 2003, an entry on the website “SKINHEADZ” was written by an individual claiming to be Sherri Graeff-Papini".

There is no mention of the hyphenated surname that I can see. According to The Mail, she didn't marry until 2012 so it's unlikely she would have used the name Papini in 2003.

From the article:

Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told a press conference that specific pieces of information were being withheld as investigations continued but that officers were confident an arrest for Sherri's kidnapping would be made.

Not arrests....as in two female kidnappers.

Could she have just wanted to 'get out of it' for while? it's possible but just walking out on one's children is a big step.

This 'reward offered' - I understand they are not wealthy people the husband works in a store (am I wrong?) so money was never the motive in that sense, but Gofundme has a lot to answer for nowadays imo.

It is all a very, very strange scenario. I shall be interested in the outcome.

Good spot, TTWO. It's looking like a right farce. McFarce even, where ideas stem from.

Still out so not looked at latest news to see if any developments?

@Bluebell - the 'reward' was not directly from the family. Some do-gooder I believe. (Although maybe part of the plan)

The GoFundMeSomeExtraCash was set up by the family though. And is different to the reward.

Bit like the Mc's begging for money.

50 grand for a few weeks work is not bad.

But it will be when they get found out.

.... also, did you find the 'supermom' reference as a bit of a 'marketing ploy'.

Supermom who doesn't work but sticks the kids in creche so she can have 'me' time...

Familiar hey?

I did Andrew, also read that she investigated or possibly joined Wicca or Native American Groups.

It all appears to be a false front, but I'm willing to be proved wrong.   Just bit cynical and suspicious nowadays         Suspect

Cynical and suspicious are my middle names since I hopped on board here.

I don't think we'll be proved wrong on this one.

But time will tell.

Maybe she'll do a lie detector very soon?
