I'm not sure. Is it really worth suing people like this who have problems with substance abuse and / or mental health issues (thinking of Stephen Birch here) as they aren't likely to be taken seriously.

They have a problem. They're seen as highly litigious, even though I don't think they really are - they've been involved in a small number of high profile cases. Suing this deadbeat will reinforce that reputation, but at the same time I don't think anybody can afford to let the likes of those claims go unchallenged, nor should they.

OTOH, the fact it's ended up in The Sun, along with a ready quote from Clarence Mitchell, suggests that either he or Murdoch might have instigated the entire thing in the first place.

I should also have said that The Sun, in repeating a libelous claim, have done far worse than Sally Bercow ever did - and she lost.

US will 'not repeat' claims GCHQ wiretapped Donald Trump

A spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May said it had been made clear to US authorities the claims were "ridiculous and should have been ignored".

Former foreign secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind said it was not enough to promise not to repeat the allegation.
"That's not the same as saying it was rubbish in the first place," he told the BBC.

GCHQ rejected the allegations as "utterly ridiculous". The unusual move by the agency to comment on the news came after Mr Spicer cited claims first made on Fox News earlier this week.

I was struck by how similar the language of this spokesman is to that often used by C Mitchell.

Marco Pierre White Jnr is a former Big brother Star....impressive?.....and has multi tattoos.....drinks a lot of mainly vodka it appears....and has been in court on fraud charges.

What qualifications to tweet on the McCanns!

Unfortunately I think more Z list celebs will join the McCann tweeting scene to raise their falling profiles and in so doing assist Tracey K etc to write more dreadful articles about evil trolls & others making the McCann heartbreak even worse.
