Compared to all the dog poo that's been fed today, then that is actually a very good article.

That's what I thought Andrew, it's quite balanced. Even the one before with the questions KM refused to answer, at least gets that out there for all to see. Definitely some cat and mouse tactics at play.

Very funny.  Yes, we know many think so, but there was no link as to where it came from.  I don't know how the law works with pics and implication or comparison, so I went for safe option.  Sorry.

Very neat, pretending to be sympathetic while stating that Kate refused to answer these questions.

Why do I get the feeling that the papers are laying the ground for a potential change of position?

That's The Sun and The Mirror now, both with thoughtful pieces reflecting Amaral's point of view. Hope this isn't cheeky but do we need another thread, for these more thoughtful stories that aren't crazy because they raise serious questions about interference?

I'll change the topic title for now to include all stories.

Let's see how many sensible ones that we get.

To belatedly answer your question. I just googled 'Smithman Gerry McCann' and then clicked on images.

This is a serious article and so is the Amaral one, also from yesterday. Another serious piece in The Sun today exploring Amarals point of view. A genuine shift IMO, actually informative and balanced. Eureka!

I posted the 48 Q's one yesterday afternoon. I don't think I've ever seen it listed like that for Joe Public to absorb and digest.....

Thanks Freedom I just realised there is another thread dealing with developments I hadn't seen before. I hope I haven't jinxed it and the sensible ones dry up now.

It has happened before that they start giving out good information then we get a batch of the usual dreadful ignorant rants.

Very large photo of Amaral in The Sun, placed above small photo of MR. Amaral elevated to heroic status, dwarfing our MR who appears at the bottom. If it was product placement, I'd say Amarals would be flying off the shelves whilst MR's are in the bargain basement.

Madeleine McCann investigation was tainted as soon as it became an abduction - and her parents got special treatment because they were doctors, claims Portuguese detective
Maddie's parents given 'special treatment' as they were upper-middle class GPs
Goncalo Amaral said that UK interference was detrimental to the investigation
Former police chief said Portuguese felt intimidated by the British involvement
Earlier this week, detectives announced they had a 'significant' line of inquiry

Actually that seems quite a sensible article considering it is from Daily Star.   A warning about leaving your children in "Kids Clubs" on holiday abroad, pointing out that there could be a lack of supervision and vigilance occurring.   That's my take on it anyway.

ETA = Must add that the printed article speaks of Europe, and does not mention Portugal at all, so has 'Portugal' been removed from the headline?

I agree Bluebell - I read something from Charlotte Pennington in which she said they were used to dealing with children going missing and dealing with distraught parents - this made me think of that.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/coronation-street-axed-child-abduction-10313898

Coronation Street axed child abduction plot as it would be too "insensitive" after Madeleine McCann disappearance
Scenes for the plot featuring Claire and Ashley Peacock's son Freddie had already been filmed when Maddie disappeared

.... I'm sure Ashley Peacock hasn't been in Corrie for about 20 years.

FACE OF MADDIE SNATCHER? Chilling e-fits of suspects wanted in the hunt for Madeleine McCann over the 10 years since she vanished
They range from a 'Victoria Beckham lookalike' to a shady-looking man spotted carrying a child from the Portuguese resort on the night Maddie vanished

That's an old story isn't it? They axed it and had it on later.

I can't remember but 10 years ago according to the article.

I do remember 'Ashley' being a sh!te actor. So no wonder it was axed.
