Another WTF story.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/california-perris-13-siblings-found-imprisoned-chained-family-home-police-latest-a8161036.html

What an ominous photo - all dressed the same with T-shirts referring to themselves as a thing and a number.

P.S. More photos here - again mostly dressed alike. However, it seems that until at least 2016 (the wedding photo) they were allowed out and were being adequately looked after.

This one has its own topic now; I think that it is likely to be as dreadful as the Fritzl case in Austria.

I have wondered if some of the children are the result of father / daughter incest.

So did I, Freedom. The age difference between the oldest and the youngest is quite big. Difficult to imagine a woman being pregnant during several decades.

Also, I read this morning but cannot find it again: it seems that Mr. Turpin "abducted" his now wife at the age [hers] of 17 ...

Yes, the wife could have had the youngest child when she was 47 but it seems a bit unlikely.

Happened a lot in earlier times Throw a few miscarriages in and a women could be producing children on an almost annual basis in pre-20th century.

On the wedding photo in 2016, the fourth girl from the right is holding the youngest child. There seems to be quite a big gap between that baby and the next youngest one.

It's noticeable that all of them look like children but the oldest one was then 27.

There could be further children/babies disposed of in that house and garden and not all born to the mother imo.

I presume that you mean born to one or more of the daughters.

I didn't think that there could be anything worse that the Fritzl case but at least there the victims weren't starved and had toys to play with.

I think they should check the previous home also.

Why not wait and see if the dogs turn anything up. rather than indulging in speculation?
