This rings a vague bell with me - I think I heard about it at the time but what a difference in publicity with that and a certain other case. 

Maybe it's because, as with Katrice Lee and Ben Needham, she wasn't on holiday and didn't live permanently in the U K.

A mention though of somebody else......

The family received a message of support from the parents of missing Madeleine McCann, and Nigeria President Umaru Yar'Adua took a personal interest in the case, which saw Margaret released after four days.
