If they had wanted to they could have pinned the blame on one of them. The fact they haven't suggests something to me

Perhaps they're waiting for the twins to leave home. By special request of course.
I still want someone to let me know what Grange might be doing all day - No ex-cops out there ?

Just change a few words and perhaps this is closer to the mark?

He said: “They are very encouraged worried that the Met Police still believe there is work left to be done in the search for their daughter investigation surrounding their daughter's disappearance and suspected death and they remain incredibly grateful to the Home Office annoyed at the Home Office for providing an extra budget for the investigation.”

IMO only.

Goodness thanks for posting the information Heisenburg.  So not request for 6 months they have requested funding for a full year!! As some have commented on twitter where is this information coming from as the force is providing no comment.  Why haven't they verified it. This final line of enquiry is a very long one then no sign of it coming to fruition soon.... doh.

This a tweet from our old friend Andrew.....

I read in another article that they want/asking for 300k funding to last until March 2020?! Nothing actually confirmed so it's probably just the usual clickbait rubbish that gets churned out every 6 months as it stands! Will wait & see, I guess.

To be honest I would consider them going cap in hand for another twelve month's funding to be nothing less than an embarrassing admission of defeat.

Indeed. Funding for what, exactly? Is there any suggestion that the big bad bogey-man might yet be found? Or what?

Has the European Court ruled on the McCanns' last line of appeal yet? I'm wondering if OG is playing a waiting game until all legal issues have been dismissed / resolved and / or the Fund is depleted to the point where they can't afford to launch any further lawsuits or threats of lawsuits ...?

I understand that you wait years for EU court rulings so it may be a good while before the EU court (hopefully) rules that their appeal does not meet the rules so it is rejected.

Madeleine McCann: Police request more funds to continue investigation into disappearance

A "very small team" is working the case, Scotland Yard says, as it applies for more money to continue the investigation.

Thursday 2 May 2019 16:53, UK

Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have asked for further funding to pursue "active lines of inquiries".

Madeleine, then aged three, was last seen while on holiday with her parents and her twin brother and sister in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.

After a Portuguese inquiry into her disappearance foundered, Scotland Yard opened its own investigation, Operation Grange, in 2013, which has so far cost £11.75m.
Every six months, the force must apply for Home Office funding to continue the inquiry.

Last November, a further £150,000 was granted and on Thursday, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick confirmed it had applied for more

She said: "We have active lines of inquiries and I think the public would expect us to see those through.

"A very small team continues to work on this case with Portuguese colleagues and we have put in an application to the Home Office for further funding."

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have always pledged never to give up the search for their daughter.

Last year, on the 11th anniversary of her disappearance, the couple used the official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page to thank supporters for their "persisting solidarity", saying it "gets harder to know what to say or write" as the years go on.

Ha ha, there's no way out for OG until they look over the edge of their own remit and see the clear view!

I'd be interested to know if having Grange on your CV is considered poison within the Met.

Probably didn't effect the pension pots of the two R's nor probably Wall who must be up for hers by now, she's a long server is she not? she's been a copper for 25 years when taking over from Redwood. So she's close to the 30 yrs if not there they can retire on a full pension.

Wall has served 25 years at the Met, eight as a DCI, and heads up the Murder Investigation Team in west London.
