You sometimes get a laugh with the subtitles as they can make funny mistakes.

Thanks everyone. Glad it's not just me. I'll try the subtitles out. Not sure it's peculiar to me but I can't lip read at all, which doesn't help. I think it's because I couldn't see clearly as a child and by the time I got glasses, I was past the stage of picking up lip reading.

Anyway back on topic. I'm intrigued by the journalist - he comes across as pure evil. The millionaire sponsor is very suspicious. I thought he could have done it but then why would he be helping the parents. Surely he'd be keeping himself under the radar.

Ken Stott - brilliant

We now got to see the picture that he painted in episode 2 -

freaky

Tony now understands Ken Stott (Ian) and de Borg - the paedophile, know each other - how that was told
was astonishing.

De Borg - goes to see Ian - 8 years on - in France - and is told he disappeared - Robert Johnson plays over the end credits - same Robert Johnson, Ian loves so much - unless you know Blues folklore - Robert Johnson made a pact with the devil.

The young cop who blabbed to the journo - finds something under a drain cover - and bags it in an evidence bag - keenly observed by an older man who drives the van of a cleaning company - a van of the same cleaning company was filmed the day after Oliver was caught on camera.

And I'd dread to think what the neck scarves of the primary teacher hide.

Another great episode.

Good breakdown tristar. Have to admit I didn't notice the neck scarves!

What type of car was it the mother went to collect? Hmmm not based on real events?

Then there was the bit about the dodgy businessman's daughter who disappeared from her bed during the night. It wasn't clear though how old she was - she could have gone of her own accord.

Another show I watched late last night. Fantastic and gripping again.

Can't wait til the next episode which is very unlike me as normally don'y give a monkey's about TV progs.

This is good. Really good.

Good observational skills Tristar - didn't cotton on to the neck scarves either. Nor the song at the end.

I appreciate your summaries at the end.

Good stuff.

Hi Bellisa and thanks,

it was a Citroën - but very similar build type to a certain Renault - and silver too

It may have been due to tiredness but I had trouble following the plot here at times.

Any brief summaries will be appreciated!

I couldn't get the bit at the end when Vincent (the convicted French paedophile) went to see the wife of the dodgy businessman. One minute she was on a yacht and then she was in a wheelchair at a nursing home with no explanation.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I don't want to watch it again (too violent for me at times) to see if there was a clue that I missed.

I know there's parts in 2006 and present day, but the nursing home bit, haven't a clue what time frame that is, I'm sure someone will help us out lol!

I think it has to be the present day as earlier on in the episode Vincent was on a bus travelling to Oxford to meet an old friend.

In 2006 he didn't leave France.

Can`t read it yet Andrew as not watched episode 4 due to the storms knocking out my planner. I have lost the episode and it isn`t available on youtube. I get BBCIplayer via Hola Unblocker but having just changed my anti virus it has stopped working. It is a Chrome extension and worked fine yesterday. Not sure how to fix it.

Yes, don't read it as obviously contains spoilers.

I'm afraid I can't advise on how to fix that. Just not got a clue.

I also was a bit confused by last nights episode but having clicked on the link, I now understand better. I was relieved to read that other members were confused by aspects of last nights programme.

Normally with a drama like this I have a good idea where its going but I dont have in this case. I have no idea if Oliver is alive. What do other members predict as a possible ending?

I can't really predict a conclusion as yet.

Really hope there is a happy ending but from I have seen so far I don't think there will be.

Hope I'm proved wrong though.

The boat scenes seemed straightforward at first.
Until we saw Stott's character with his head battered by James Nesbitt's Tony.
And then the announcement on the boat that a certain someone was here to see him...

in the middle of the ocean ! That's when I twigged that it was not real.

It is gripping and very chilling. How will it end , I wonder ? Looks pessimistic but hope some answers for the parents at least.

Stott is fantastic in everything he does and as for Nesbitt, he is one of the best actors I have ever seen.

Just finished watching ep 5 and it has taken a great twist. Thoroughly enjoying this series and like you all I still don`t know how it will end. I think I prefer it that way as this is only tv.

Thanks for the link Andrew. I worked out the yacht bit but was glad to see it confirmed. So is Garrett dead then? He certainly wasn't looking well. I've disliked the parents right from the start and tonight's episode confirmed my gut feelings about Tony's violent nature. It's been there bubbling away barely under the surface until this week . Emily appears so devoid of character I wonder if domestic violence will be a feature of the relationship. Fantastic acting by James Nesbit.
