I'm not hardcore, Andrew. BUT I agree: lock them up.

What a dreadful story, though I don't see any similarities to the McCanns, Andrew.

The bit about the children being returned by the state from presumed safety with their grandmother to their psycho parents reminds me of the Ellie Butler case in England.

Campaigning for the safe return of their child knowing full well his fate and that he wouldn't be found is one similarity.

Yes a dreadful story indeed.

Well, that is something that is common to most, if not all, cases where the disappearance of a child has been definitely proved to be the work of the parents; all those tearful pleas in the media for information.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3996330/Woman-charged-killing-husband-shooting-head-appears-court-prosecutor-call-filthy-mouthed-parrot-Bud-witnessed-murder-stand.html

A woman accused of killing her husband in an attempted murder-suicide - with their pet parrot as the only witness - appeared in court for the first time.
Glenna Duram, 46, is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting her husband, Martin, 45, on May 12, 2015 and then turning the gun on herself in their Newaygo County's Ensley Township home in Michigan. She survived.
The alleged murder-suicide has drawn attention for its unusual witness - the couple's pet parrot. Weeks after his death, Martin Duram's family recorded the bird 'parroting' what they believe to be the victim's last words: 'Don't f***ing shoot!'
The prosecutor says he hasn't ruled out putting the African grey parrot, Bud, on the stand, according to NBC News.

I posted about this here on 15th November - previous page. I had doubts about this one and even his ex-wife didn't think he'd done it deliberately.

I can't recall all the finer details about it so will have to look into it again to form an opinion.

On the previous page I also mentioned about an 18 year old lad going missing. Forgot about that one and just googled his name. Very sad.

Marybeth Tinning

Post  Freedom on Wed 07 Dec 2016, 11:11 pm

I'm not sure if this case has been mentioned before - the woman who killed eight of her nine children in the 1970s and 1980s.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/14-years-tiny-corpses-authorities-finally-action-murderous-mother-article-1.122089

She was an adequate mother to her first two children but then the third died soon after birth from spinal meningitis.

Within a few weeks, the older two died mysteriously, as did five further natural children and one who was adopted illegally.

Another pair of savages who have been granted lifelong anonymity and I'm shocked to hear that they are now back on the streets.

Pearl Harbour

An interesting programme based on a book by a very well known pair of authors - though their fame is mainly for the wrong reasons!

This is the book.

It seems they`re doing their establishment toadying again - this time making out that Franklin Roosevelt didn`t know about the forthcoming attack by the Japs.  What was it last time - oh yes, that G.W. Bush didn`t know about the forthcoming attack on the twin towers.  Any more - oh yes, to confirm that MBM was in fact abducted.

This case was just being discussed on the local news - BBC North West. Just looked it up and an article yesterday from the DM:

This evil scumbag has been jailed for life.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4036424/Cannabis-addict-father-jailed-life-smothering-baby-death.html

I actually felt physically sick reading that so I advise caution. In fact I wouldn't read it.

I hope he never gets out and dies a slow and horrible death in prison.

101-year-old paedophile who is 'Britain's oldest convict' jailed for 13 years

Post  chrissie on Mon 19 Dec 2016, 2:53 pm

A 101-year-old paedophile has been jailed for 13 years for committing a spate of sex offences against young children in the 1970s and 1980s.

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/101yearold-paedophile-who-is-britains-oldest-convict-jailed-for-13-years-a3423801.html

Good to see he got locked up in spite of his age.

So am I chrissie  -  only angry that he wasn't charged before now.  He even abused a four year old.   This from your link:

you have no remorse whatsoever."

Mr Bond said his offending against three vulnerable youngsters, one as young as four, had been "repeated and sustained" over many years.

He said the children had been "powerless" to stop the former RAF serviceman, who would threaten and beat those who defied his word.

Mr Bond told him: "One of your victims remembers you as a nasty man, free with your fists, and he would get belted by you."

Clarke would also try to "bribe" his other young victims after abusing them, with sweet money of "10p or 20p".

Memories of Lockerbie

Post  Freedom on Wed 21 Dec 2016, 9:13 am

Were any of our Scottish members near Lockerbie?

Today is the 28th anniversary of the disaster and it was a Wednesday too. I remember that I'd just watched a film on TV about the singer Patsy Cline - which ended with her death in a plane crash - when a news report came in about a plane thought to have crashed onto a petrol station.
