Okay, this was an accident waiting to happen now that we know more about the family.

A quote here from Colin Sutton.

A frightening attack - this could so easily have killed the victim.

Colin Sutton seems to be the default man to go to,he was on the radio the other day talking about the cab rapist and his release.

Another case (like that of Margaret Fleming) where a person can disappear for years and nobody notices.

Ye gods, this is dreadful but I do understand what it is like to be driven to distraction by noise. This doesn't of course excuse what happened here.

I have mentioned this notorious 1980s Irish case before; here's the report of a tribunal inquiry.

The determination to prove parental guilt in this case is in stark contrast to another case I could mention.

Snipped from the Daily Mail.

Sep 25, 2007 ... The first eyewitness account of the frantic moments after Madeleine McCann disappeared can be revealed today. Nanny Charlotte Pennington confirms that Kate McCann did scream: 'THEY’VE taken her, they've taken her'

Headline of the Mylee Billingham stabbing in the Daily Mail today
Mylee’s mother was heard screaming, ‘’ THEY stabbed her.’’ The mother was presumably referring to her husband.

I have to ask the question . Who are THEY? Is this something that happens under stress?

This one is interesting - the defendant has been tried before and acquitted.

Another horror story of child cruelty from California.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/calif-couple-arrested-after-locking-3-kids-in-box-for-4-years-authorities-say/ar-BBJLHXv?li=BBoPWjQ&ocid=mailsignout

This is the understatement of the year.

The children did not have enough food and were living in an "unsuitable and unsafe" environment, the Sheriff's Department said.

This programme has been recommended by Facebook friends but I haven't seen it yet. It's about the famous (or infamous) Thompson / Bywaters case in 1922. In case there's anyone who doesn't know the outcome, I won't say any more.

Only on this post, you'll be sorry to hear!

I don't think it's fair to bring the Portuguese police into this - they certainly did their best, knowing as we do now the opposition they faced.

The Rachel case was horrific and the police were desperate to get the person responsible. Unfortunately Colin Stagg did fit the image of who that might have been. If I'd seen and heard him at the time saying "no comment" to the police questioning - the usual response of those who are as guilty as sin - I would have been convinced that he was guilty.

Hi ,I meant the british police ,not PJ,the case is just shelved by pj ,maybe will reopen at some time .I can see that the case would not be good idea in any court as it stands ,need a lot of good evidence ,or would be thrown out ,and no one would like to see that happen .joyce1938
