The collective of judges considered that Leonor Cipriano was tortured, even though it could not be proved by whom. In the verdict read today, two PJ inspectors were accused, António Nunes Cardoso for document forgery and Gonçalo Amaral for simple false testimony, he was acquitted in relation to the crime of omission of denunciation of the aggressions suffered by Leonor Cipriano. The other three arguidos [defendants], Leonel Morgado Marques, Paulo Pereira Cristóvão and Paulo Marques Bom were absolved of the crime of torture.

It wasn't proved who ordered the aggressions to Leonor Cipriano in 2004.

Gonçalo Amaral was sentenced to one year and six months of suspended sentence, and António Nunes Cardoso to two years and six months of suspended sentence also.

Gonçalo Amaral was convicted for simple false statement, since the version of the alleged fall on the stairs of Leonor Cipriano wasn't proved. Thus, the court considered that Amaral had lied, in order to cover the actions of his unknown colleagues.

The court concluded that António Nunes Cardoso falsified a document, which reported the fall on the stairs of Leonor Cipriano. The sentence for Cardoso was aggravated, given his position as a police officer, "of whom is required to fight the crime."

The lawyers for Leonor Cipriano, Marcos Aragão Correia and the assistant representing the Bar Rodrigo Santiago will appeal as well as António Cabrita, Gonçalo Amaral's lawyer.

I did actually think the same thing.

But the Mc's et al won't go down without a fight. Clarence in it up to his neck so there will be a lot of defamation going on. They are desperate and drowning. And will sling anything at it now.

Hopefully most of the papers tell them to get lost.

Will see what it's all about tomorrow.

Well it's no secret that he's sick of all the absolute nonsense he's had to endure over the years. Just for doing his job and for clearly getting too close to the truth.

It's no secret either that 99% of the general public are absolutely sick to death of the whole McCann charade.

And it will certainly be a sick secret if Madeleine doesn't get justice after all these years.

I am guessing it is the suspended sentence thing. I wonder if they will mention the fact that Metodo 3 bribed Leonor to smear GA. And who was paying Metodo 3?

as several have commented on another site - the trial could bring a whole lot to the surface, the most significant piece of information being that her lawyer claimed that M3 paid him to find dirt on Amaral to ruin his reputation. And who paid M3 to do this ?

Well if Mr Amaral needs any proof to start suing the McCanns for libel and damage to his reputation, if the Sun publishes anything that smears him now, it's perfect timing for evidence to launch that lawsuit, wouldn't you think?

Do you deny that sniffer dogs detected cadaver in the apartment and the hire car? Because they did. Early sniffer dogs also became very agitated around apartment 5J. This also is FACT in the police files.

So it is you who is not talking the truth.
