Was Martin Brunt ever taken to task over the door-stopping of Brenda? I would have thought that his threats to Brenda were unethical at best and at worst unlawful? Martin Brunt's role in this case is very strange.

It would be nice to think that all those involved with the hounding to death of Brenda have never had a good night's sleep since then - but I doubt that they have a shred of decency in them.

It is weird, is it not, that anyone who questioned the McCanns' version of events was labelled a 'troll'.

Can the McCanns or anyone who supported them give a single piece of evidence for their abduction theory?

Just one - one piece of evidence. One piece of evidence which can be supported by fact.

Just catching up on a few things. I meant to say here that I haven't forgotten about this - the death of Brenda Leyland is almost as large and complex a subject in its own right as the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. I have quite a lot of notes and records from the time and intend to turn them into something coherent. The main thing of course to bear in mind is that Brunt didn't act in isolation, it was a whole coordinated arc beginning with Richard and Judy and ending in the manner we are all aware of. Whoever was responsible had good control not only of the media but also social media. I particularly remember the gloating tweets sent to Brenda that appeared to originate in the Caribbean. Brutal stuff.

I might be in a minority but I do think she probably committed suicide, although even some of the circumstances around that (early involvement of the Police, Ipad being open etc.) are a bit odd.

I've mentioned the "journalist" Jon Ronson here before. I'm disappointed that he's never (to my knowledge) talked about the McCann case, or Brenda Leyland, especially as he published a book in 2015 called "So You've Been Publicly Shamed". I would have thought it would have been ideal subject matter.

P.S. I've listened to it all now. I found it truly horrifying that a joke - admittedly in very poor taste but that's hardly a crime - led to what happened here, a person literally in fear of her life.

No doubt that, as with Brenda, the human filth that threatened her got away scot-free.

Yes I just saw that. It did not appear to be very well supported at all. So did she withdraw it herself?
