Richard iv (good poster!) and sallypelt appreciating the efforts I believe, cottoning on to the Gamble references too. Others on there looking for ways to take offence but aquila posting the lot (credit) and seemingly musing the contents. Let's see how reaction evolves towards what, to me, is an openly honest account of the nasties lurking around the corners of the McCann labyrinth. Just can't see how this could reflect badly on Sonia, myself.
Really ? Have you not noticed she`s a woman, has long blonde hair, wears make-up and probably paints her fingernails.
Blast! How stupid of me! Quick, delete the whole thread before it appears in Cosmo!

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
Sonia has hinted there it's mainstream or maybe nothing, is that the right attitude all that work for possibly nothing? You are vastly under rating the internet, Sonia even claims the mail online is the largest read 'newspaper', should she not be aiming at this / YouTube and others. It's not going to see the light of day on mainstream imo. As for your 'credibility' as a producer etc. she may have tried to interview the main players but your not going to see her get answers out of any of them so basically it will be similar to the trailer ie. doorstepping and no reply, therefore more of an irritant than a threat. I do however hope she manages to get over the troubles and we get to see what she's got
Can't do the splitting if post thing! Apologies if I came across as rude (forthright maybe). I don't need to read it again thanks I can comprehend most things first time round. You did actually manage to get my drift with the reference to Dan and Phil the potential is greater.

The potential is there, of course.
But in this case is not being realised yet. And if viewing figures do start to accelerate we'll see combative action for sure. Of the Whooshing, CR-kind, probably.
So commercial TV is the best bet for the current climate which is why Sonia has chosen this route. She simply doesn't see the point of another YouTube video alonside all the other McCann YouTube videos - invaluable but largely ignored.
And, of course, all the McCann TV programmes are also on YouTube . With much higher viewing figures than the 'amateur' productions. It's a win-win!

My heart has seriously gone out to Sonia Poulton here, how she finds the strength to keep going is beyond me. This case was never about an accidental death of a child, but then that
is just my opinion.

My bold.
I think it was (though can't rule out homicide), but the gov/police/ and some/all media all cocked up big time in various ways and times and have been running round like headless chickens trying to cover they're arses since. Which has equaled "protection" for the M's.
Or something similar, anyway.

I agree that the media seem to have cocked up, but as Sonia's diary shows there seems to be at least some fear there.
I'm not at all sure though that the government - at least Blair/Brown and their ministers - are innocent: sending CM out to PdL straight away, putting pressure on the Portuguese Government and DC limiting the scope of the SY investigation.
With regard to the police, I don't know. British officers on the scene in the early days - including Leicestershire officers - were clearly operating professionally. OG may be a different matter: they were definitely following their given scope, but it is surely the family that are always considered suspects until proved innocent - yet Redwood was able to publicly state that the McCanns weren't suspects. Going back to the relatively early days, Leicestershire Police were seemingly responsible for delaying the forwarding of the Gasper statements.

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
Not forgetting that the Smithman efits didn't see the light of day for years and the dna evidence conveniently got whooshed. I can believe there could be one bent copper on a case but 30 odd, no way. Even if it were the lead detective, the others would surely spot it. This tells me that whatever is being covered up is huge. Either someone very important is involved or the Macs got caught up in a major operation which would blow years of patient work if the truth came out.
If it is the latter then one day the guilty will get their just rewards. If it is the former there will never be a conclusion.

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
Agreed it must be huge, involving IMO a very very important person. Richard Hall, in his first set of videos, went so far as to speculate that the State could fall - I don't imagine he had a politician in mind. And the McCanns could have got caught up by being there at the time and creating the absurd abduction tale just to make money.

There's only one taboo subject that would see the levels of cover up afforded in this case, its only in the last couple of years that we're beginning to see heads rolling. imo

I have the permission of "Winjoy" on MM to copy her comments here.
winjoy on Sun 1 May - 3:37
Probably wont make any difference, and probably wont get a reply, but I have just sent this email to her:
Dear Sonia
I was wondering, and secretly hoping, that you might be getting closer to releasing your documentary?
I have been a mc-doubter from day one and long to see some genuine reporting on this case.
Are the present house-of-cards-tumbling-down circumstances likely to make it easier for you to release your findings?
If doorstepping, in the Brenda Leyland style, is starting up again then your video really cannot come out soon enough to prevent a repeat of the tragic events surrounding Brenda.
I really do hope we'll all be able to watch your film soon.
Kind regard
(winjoy) - a genuine McCann 'anti', but certainly not a troll as a result!
winjoy on Thu 5 May - 23:41
The reply I didn't expect to receive!
Hello Anne,
Thank you for getting in touch. We are still struggling with reluctant broadcasters who are unwilling to commit to anything until Operation Grange approaches the end. It's like juggling fire!
I had a word with the Daily Mail journalist behind the doorstepping, tried to put him straight about the story, have no idea if it has done any good!
Wishing you all the best, Anne, I can't wait to be in a position to say 'Yes! We have a broadcast date' that will be a moment to cherish for me, the obstacles have been far greater than any of our team imagined. Take care,
Sonia

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
Certainly makes sense about waiting for Op Grange to conclude. Which I expected from the off and rightly so.
Interesting about the DM reporter.... Now was that Wayne or Tom... A non-story by all accounts anyway.

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
I'm glad you said that freedom as I brace myself to tip toe through the minefield that can be Sonia Poulton. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the one who claimed to have been door stepped.....a companion of Sonia's at least at the Brenda Leyland inquest(the doorstepee so to speak!) and a Daily Mail journalist who as it happens Sonia has managed to talk!! The said "doorstepping"appears not to have spread much further than,I believe, one more person. Is this not old fashioned door knocking which as been escalated into a "STORY"to suit what end I have no idea, well actually I have a few but I will keep the speculation to myself as I do still hope that Sonia manages something worthwhile, not just a money spinning piece being held back for maximum financial impact.

Yes, there is a photo of the doorstep challenge lady (though she wasn't being asked about what washing powder she uses) together with Sonia and others.

Yes, it's more likely that she invited him. We don't know what paper he is from - he might have been there in respect of a local issue.
Still, we'll all know the truth of the matter won't we when the story comes out........

Re: Sonia Poulton's documentary
A year to the day since my last post, here's some news from Sonia.
https://www.facebook.com/sonia.poulton/posts/10156073383588976
This is accessible to non-members but I'll copy the message as well.
Today is the 10th anniversary since Madeleine McCann was reported missing. British media is even more PR-oriented on the story than ever before.
Media has failed to apply due objectivity to this case and, by doing so, journalists and broadcasters have failed Madeleine McCann - as well as a number of other victims this story has created.
For all the sentimental musings from the disingenuous media pack there is scant regard to the true fate of the missing child.
For the past three years I (and a small but dedicated team) have been making a film looking into the events following Madeleine McCann's disappearance. It is a version of the story that has yet to be told.
Making the doc has been a fairly horrendous time. I was warned by media colleagues not to do it. I was told it was "the one story you don't cover." Which translated to me as the story that I must. So, we did it, anyway, despite the warnings. Little did I know the madness that would ensue.
The obstacles - from smear campaigns and threats to almost financial destitution - have been numerous. Primarily because when you're accusing the Establishment, including British media, of being part of a narrative that has more holes than your average colander.....you're going to have problems with, well, the Establishment and the British media.
Finally, with regard our documentary, we're on the home stretch. We returned from a second shoot to Praia da Luz (where Madeleine was reported missing) several weeks ago, spent 12 hours a day in post production and now we're in talks with TV producers. Not British ones, I may add.
I should say, our film makes no claims of innocence or guilt towards Kate and Gerry McCann and their holiday friends, it simply tells the facts of the story as seen through the eyes of forensic examiners, ex-cops, case observers and the Portuguese Police files. Oh, and with the help of people at the heart of the story who are quite unused to British journalists asking questions that haven't already been vetoed by the official spokesman, Clarence Mitchell.
Personally, I always believe that the truth, simply told, is potent. And it is. I hope to be able to announce a broadcast date sooner rather than later.
This is not only a story about a missing child - as sad as that is to the many, many people who experience such an event - but about wide-ranging matters that affect us all. It's time that truth, not public relations, was applied to it.
Here's a little recording I did on my phone. For those familiar with the story, you may recognise the famous church. This is the scene of much controversy and became known worldwide for the press shots of Kate and Gerry McCann visiting it.
