Is there any similar punishment if you leave your child alone whilst abroad, eating and drinking? Obviously not.

And look at the consequence of that !!!

Yet two middle class doctors left THREE very small children alone, resulting in the disappearance of one of them - and they were never cautioned or prosecuted or anything else. In fact the media treated (and continues to treat) them like celebrities. Why the difference?

Apparently if you leave your kids alone whilst abroad and one goes missing, you don't even get a slap on the wrist.

IMO:

Whatever the good doctors get away with - the abandonment of 3 small children on many occasions - will not go away

That human stain will remain however much they want to spin it.

You can only do that sort of thing if your name is Kate and Gerry. And when your daughter disappears the authorities do nothing to punish them. That's UK for you.

Absolutely correct and a justified comment.

But 3 children under 4 and one 'goes missing' can be left alone in an apartment when on holiday whilst parents go out drinking with friends and no prosecution? Hmm interesting.
