The family home of a missing Bristol teenager is to be searched by forensics officers, police have said.

Rebecca Watts, 16, was reported missing after not returning to her home in the St George area last Thursday.

Father Darren Galsworthy left the house with step-mother Anjie. Police said the search was "standard practice".

Avon and Somerset Police have also been searching Troopers Hill, a nature reserve near the family's home on the Crown Hill road.

It also emerged the force helicopter searched the reserve and surrounding area on Tuesday night.

But police said at a press conference they had made no significant finds there.

Officers revealed new missing posters had been produced and would be distributed around Bristol.

Troopers Hill is a big nature reserve and normally the view from the top commands panoramic views across Bristol.

The area is very popular with dog walkers and one of them told me they saw police arriving just after 04:00 this morning.

We've been here since 09:00 and the cordon has already been widened.

There are lots of ways into and out of the site and many of the paths with police tape across them.

It's a massive area to be searching.

Officers on foot also searched a park and open ground, close to Rebecca's home earlier on Tuesday.

Just before 13:00 GMT, forensics officers arrived near the family's home in Crown Hill
She is described as white, 5ft 4ins (1.6m) tall, with long red hair. Police said recent photos of her did not reflect the change in her hair colour.

It is thought she was wearing a blue puffa-style jacket on the day she went missing.

On Monday, Mr Galsworthy called on his daughter to return.

He said Rebecca was a "typical teenage girl who took lots of selfies".

Her stepmother Anjie added she was "not in trouble... she's just wanted here".

Rebecca went missing with her mobile phone and laptop, the force said.

Yea, that video does seem abit strange, can't really trust most these days which is sad.

The dad of missing Becky Watts has posted a disturbing Facebook message warning to 'wives, mothers and girlfriends' to look out for his daughter's blood on their partners' underwear.

Becky, 16, disappeared from her father Darren Galsworthy's home a week ago and has not been seen or heard from since.

Mr Galsworthy, 51, posted the unusual message on her profile page on Wednesday morning - six days after she vanished.

The note - written it in block capital letters and repeated three times in just 11 minutes - asked women to watch out for blood on family member's underwear.

He wrote: "THIS IS A MESSAGE TO ALL WIFES MOTHERS AND GIRLFRIENDS IT WAS MY BABY GIRLS TIME OF THE MONTH SO IF YOU HAVE WASHED ANY BLOOD FROM YOUR PARTNERS OR SONS UNDERWEAR AND THEY CANT EXPLAIN IT PLEASE IMAGINE IF THIS WAS YOUR CHILD WHAT WOULD YOU DO PLEASE REPORT IT."

Within five hours of the post appearing, Mr Galdsworthy and his disabled wife Anjie, 49, were ushered out of their home by police and taken to a 'safe house'.

I do wonder about a household where a father has such personal knowledge of his daughter.........

I know that times have changed and menstruation isn't the taboo subject it was when I was a teenager but I still find this very odd.

Me too Freedom. She is described as being very shy so I find it difficult to believe she would have been so open about her time of the month.

Some reports of her sending txt messages to a friend/s saying who would miss me if I disappeared, not confirmed by police yet though.

That does sound like typical teenage angst, though.

I can remember thinking similar things myself.

What bothers me most, is that he's been talking about her in the past sense ... :-(

I briefly read earlier that Sniffer dogs were sent into the family home and garden.

What I thought ,lovely girl ,so sad. He looked suss right from the beginning over the top emotion.

I hope police ask that young man,what he meant by in the heat of the moment and what "was done" on impulse Imo It's another Tia sharp case but I hope I'm wrong.

I assume the parents are not together then?

Is Darren the natural or a stepfather?

Also read that the 'Madeleine McCann' sniffer dogs are on the scene.

Trustworthy dogs who smelt out cadaver all over the place relating to the parents.

Be interesting how the media then spin it if again the dogs alert.
