Police step up search for missing William Tyrell, 3, on NSW mid-north coast

Frantic search for three-year-old boy in NSW
h

MORE than 200 people from the Kendall community have joined today’s search for missing three-year-old William Tyrell.

About 300 searchers, including members from the local SES, fire fighters and surf life saving club members, are combing bushland surrounding the house where William was last seen about 10.30am yesterday.

The police helicopter is also helping with the search and crews have drained at least one dam in the area this morning, but have found no sign of William.

Superintendent Paul Fehon said the search would continue through the night, despite having found no sign of the boy.

Supt Fehon said police divers would arrive later today to search nearby dams and waterways.

He said searchers had covered a 3km radius around the home, and hoped to cover 10sq kms by the end of the day.

“The weather was quite mild last night, so we’re still very hopeful the young child could have survived those conditions,” he said.

“Obviously we would’ve hoped to have located him by now. But we will not give up hope.”

Supt Fehon said the boy was playing with his little sister in the front yard of a Benaroon Drive home wearing a Spider-Man suit when he went missing.

He said his parents are “very distressed” and are helping with the search.

Sniffer dogs, mounted police and volunteers on motorbikes are also helping police.

Supt Fehon said police had not ruled out other scenarios, but were still focusing their efforts on a ground search of the surrounding area at this stage.

William is believed to have been visiting relatives at the house and had only been in the area a short time.

Carly, is it known how old William's sister is? Has she been able to give any information?

P.S. I've now seen a reference to her as being younger than him so she's probably not able to help.

Carly: has anything been published about the parents? I've heard that they haven't been named for "legal reasons" which seems very bizarre if true.

I am beginning to think that, like so many other cases, the answer to this one is close to home.

A very unusual case in view of the family circumstances. Presumably William's parents have the same fairly unusual surname - wouldn't that identify them?

A recent update.

This is more bizarre than first appeared. His mother and grandmother were in the house and garden respectively and he was in and out of both when suddenly he was nowhere to be found.

No news about William sadly.

Here's an example of an immediate alert issued for another missing child in Australia.

P.S. She has been found safe, thankfully.

How a paedophile ring managed to take him from under the noses of his mother and grandmother I don't know.

The video link at the top of the page doesn't work.

There is a link to an interview with his parents.

"William’s mother says when he failed to respond to her calls as he played outside just metres away, she knew he’d been kidnapped.

“I had a vision in my head...I can’t explain it. That somebody reached over and I sort of feel like they’ve gone “clump” on his shoulders, picked him up and moved him on...because to me...that’s the only way for me to explain him not to be there,” she said".

Hmmmm........

Going back to William Tyrell - the little Australian boy who is the subject of the original post - it will be a year on Saturday since he was reported missing.

It is now definite (I think!) that the secrecy regarding his family is due to him being in care and living with foster parents.

We can only assume that the first line of enquiry was with his biological parents and they have been ruled out as suspects.

P.S. Link added to saccharin-laden blog. It reminds me of similar things penned by McCann supporters who have believed everything they've been told.

From Australia    -    Pretty shocking this.   Peadophile ring within a grandparents group.     Oh and I would add I find the sentence he got is disgusting, deserves at least 10  years imo.

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/tony-jones-william-tyrrell-person-of-interest-jailed-for-molesting-young-child/story-fnii5s41-1227544057826

TONY Jones, a person of interest in the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell, has been sentenced to at least two years in jail for molesting a young child.

Jones, of Wauchope on the state’s mid north coast, was convicted of child sex offences after pleading guilty earlier this year and sentenced today to three years in prison with a non-parole period of two years.

Jones, 59, is being investigated by Strike Force Rosann – the team of detectives probing the suspected abduction of William Tyrrell

The Daily Telegraph revealed earlier this month that Jones was under the microscope in relation to the disappearance of Spiderman-loving William. He was part of a group called GAPA (Grandparents As Parents Again) which police believe harboured a paedophile ring operating in the area.

The group’s former president Paul Bickford, who was close friends with Jones, is serving a suspended jail sentence for the indecent assault of a separate minor.

A report on the William Tyrrell case. The known sex offenders line of enquiry is a red herring in my opinion and I find the way that they were door-stepped by reporters very disturbing.

This strange case has interested me from the start with its secrecy over William's family. Why it can't be said more openly that he lived with foster parents (and they haven't been identified) I don't know.

Do we know Rosa if Natalie is his biological grandmother? I take it that she is as she mentions a resemblance to William.

WHEN police announced a record $1 million reward to help find William Tyrrell yesterday, it left some wondering why he was so special.
In announcing the money, Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said William’s case had “captured the hearts and minds of the nation”, but what about the other missing kids who aren’t worth nearly as much?
Looking through the cases of long term missing persons, it’s difficult to decipher why the rewards offered are different.
