I'm sure that we've mentioned the case of Katrice Lee before but I can't find where at the moment.

I don't remember any publicity about this case at all when it happened.

I can't find anything to say that he has ever commented on the McCann case.

"Right let's make a couple of things VERY CLEAR...

1, The possibility of Robert Black being involved in Katrice's disappearance WAS investigated AND dismissed as it was proven HE WAS NOT IN GERMANY at the time.

2, Despite "QUOTING" Mr Lee in their article, at no point has anyone from the Daily Mirror approached ANY of the Lee family with regards this "fresh" line of enquiry let alone got a quote from them.

3, This article is nothing more than a washed up ex cop trying to get column space to promote his pathetic book about Black.

4, The Daily Mirror should, at the VERY LEAST, offer a FULL PUBLIC apology to the Lee family for the additional distress this pathetic attempt at journalism has caused them.

How strange that this highly qualified "expert" has never attached himself to the McCann case.

There is plenty of time for that freedom. My biggest gripe about him is the sensationalist manner of his site content which tends to the high profile serial killers with a positive lean....make that slant to the Yorkshire Ripper.

Hmmm. I wonder why this report of an "abductor" has surfaced after all these years. There has never been, as far as I know, any evidence until now to suggest what might have happened to this little girl.

This case attracted little, if any, publicity at the time. It must have been at least 10 years before I ever heard of it.

Thanks for that link. This case intrigues me, partly because it illustrates vividly the contrast between publicity with "normal" missing children and that with the McCanns.

I don't recall ever hearing about Katrice in 1981. You'd think that a missing British girl from an army family in Germany would have gained some publicity in the U K. 

It would have been the 10th or even later anniversary when I first heard about her.

This video was released in 2012, and I remember Sharon being on This Morning on ITV with Kate McCann being interviewed.

Odd how the military police are handling this whereas Corrie McKeague was treated as a civilian case.

Could it be because Corrie was last seen away from his base whereas Katrice was at a NAAFI supermarket?

Intersting that this has came up on this particular day....prompting the idea that things keep slowy working down the years. There is an article on Sky website and much more detailed report on tv ....even panning past a shuttered (barred in this case ) window.

Investigators believe it is possible that Katrice, now aged 38, is still alive, having been abducted and raised with little memory of her early years.

They pointed out she was born with a distinctive eye condition in her left eye which would have required two medical operations to correct.

I noticed this too, Bampots, it was on BBC news too. Caught it halfway through and thought it would be a related article to Madeleine on the anniversary, but no mention. Without a doubt not a coincidence, but what is the motive behind airing this parallel case today?

Not really a subject for flippancy, but unless they think she's alive and living in the riverbank it is a bit hard to make any sense of.
