This story is equally as baffling as the McCann one, with the press behaving just as reliably.

I got the same feeling reading about this case day 1 as the McCann case. I think Russia and Putin are more dodgy than NK but from what I've seen and heard from our Gov in this case it has been laughable.

Sorry but if that door handle had a nerve agent on it where are the hazmat guys? and why did nobody get ill? Lots of foot traffic through that house no doubt.

Just the fact these two people seemed to be recovering very well is dodgy. Nerve agents are said to kill in minutes. Also who's clever idea was it to place a political spy swap man in the nearest town to our own chemical weapon plant? Coincidence?

No country dare stand up to Russia militarily so this is the only option!? Also find it funny Portugal are one of the few countries in Europe not to back the UK.

I agree; it's the nearest thing I've seen since. No witnesses, no CCTV, the odd dissenting voice claiming it's all bollocks, and the press nakedly contradicting themselves, sometimes within the same article. Also a lot of "whooshing" going on .

IMO if the Russians did it they would be dead. Also if the Government think it was the Russians, and somebody dodgy in the Russian Embassys did it, why send them back to Russia. Doesn't make sense if the so called killers are on our soil surely you would keep them in this country to interview them, not send them home to Freedom.

Sadly the killer of Yvonne Fletcher did just that, diplomatic immunity.

Charges should be brought but I won't hold my breath as nothing is what it seems with this case for certain.

Food poisoning can give you 24 hours you would not want to go through again for a while but weeks at death's door...?

I saw the cousin at some press conference (?) in Russia on Sky news and don't recall her saying that but to be fair I wasn't giving the coverage 100% attention.

I agree with other members that if Putin ordered the hit it would have been done efficiently and the pair would be long dead.

There is a story that Yulia's fiance is the son of a senior Russian secret service agent who did not want him to marry the daughter of a traitor. His mother was reported to be very unhappy about the situation. She has a motive; might be able to access the stuff that caused the problem?

Yes, food poisoning can keep you very ill and put you in a coma for weeks and affect all your internal organs.

We are expected to believe this every time there's a terrorist attack!
