McCanns on Crimewatch - 16th September 2014
Just a heads-up that the latest Crimewatch programme info for the forthcoming show on September 16th says the McCanns are featuring - they are listed as 'participants' though I have no idea whether that means in the studio or merely in a clip.

Hmmm.......I have a nasty feeling that they will be there along with genuine crime victims to reinforce the idea that they are equally blameless.

Here's hoping DCI Redwood has another revelation moment and we get to see the look of complete shock and horror on Kate's face again

It's worth pointing out the forthcoming @BBCcrimewatch is not a 'Maddie Special' - but a 30 year edition of the most NOTORIOUS cases #McCann

There is a stomach-churning interview with Kirsty Young in the new edition of Radio Times to mark next week's 30th anniversary programme.
She says that interviewing the McCanns last year was one of the more challenging episodes of her career; she cannot imagine what they have gone through all these years and she was having to ask them to relive it.
There will be a new interview with the McCanns, "as well as relatives of other high profile murder victims......" The McCanns will not like it to be taken as read that their daughter was murdered.
I shan't be watching the programme - my TV would be in danger of being thrown through the window.

But there may be another "Madeleine shaped hole" question for them to fall into. .
That had to be scripted.

It's hard to understand how Crimewatch can move past Kate's refusal to answer the 48 questions and the 9 tapas refusals to attend the planned reconstruction in Portugal.

Be very sporting of Crimewatch to show their viewers video footage of the 2 dogs alerting to Cadaver and Blood as well.

The thought of the McCanns being paraded again with genuine victims of crime to convey the impression that they are equally blameless is nauseating.

I really don't mind the McCanns being on TV. My intuition tells me that every time they appear on TV, more people become doubters, and find their way to forums such as this one. I say to the McCanns - keep it up.

Totally agree. It's always good to look at their body language and hear what comes out of their mouths.
Usually a few signs of 'we are telling absolute porkies here'.

Yes, I find it very distasteful too, and an insult to the genuine victims, it almost makes a mockery of their pain.

They really don't do themselves any favours each time they appear on television, they are not likeable, they are not believable and their abduction story appears more farcical each time they repeat it.
I do feel angry though on behalf of the genuine victims who will be appearing alongside them. It is obscene in my opinion that the police and the BBC are mollycoddling this pair of out and out liars by treating them as victims in the same way as those who have genuinely suffered a traumatic loss.

Re: McCanns on Crimewatch - 16th September 2014
I don't think that the McCanns would willingly push themselves forward to appear in a programme with relatives of murder victims when they are still trying to claim that there is no evidence that Madeleine has come to any harm.
So they were unaware of the "murder" theme when they agreed to appear or they were invited to the programme in a such a way that they were unable to refuse. Subsequent publicity has made it difficult, if not impossible, for them to back out.
It seems to me that they have walked into a trap.

Agreed, all it may take is a question off script, on the spot and who knows what they'll say or unknowingly leak!

Hope so Poe. Getting arrested on the 30th anniversary of Crimewatch. That would be good for ratings BBC.

Good time to bury bad news with Scotland dominating the headlines!

I'm certain they won't be arrested on live TV, as much as I would like that to be the case! However, I'm fairly sure the end is coming soon, nigh even
