I was just looking for something else and inadvertently stumbled across this article from 2011. It's not about the McCanns but could very well be and very apt at the same time. Worth a read anyway:

Besides being damned rude to accuse The Supreme Court Judges decision as "frivolous/rash/imprudent" and calling for it to be anulled, they are saying it was "Because it was not possible for the Public Prosecutor to obtain sufficient evidence of crimes by the appellants". They just don`t get it do they. Well you morons, if there wasn`t sufficient evidence against you, IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE BEEN PROVED INNOCENT........ and that was all that the SC Judges said relating to the investigation - it was all they could say because they were not there to determine whether you are guilty of disposing of MBM`s body - they were there to determine whether GA had a right to write his book.

Surely Isobel Duarte will explain this to them.

I would hope! It is incredibly desperate of them but it is all they can do. The only thing more incredible is the patience of the Portuguese to keep so calm. No doubt this might mean another few months of this...

Absolutely. Plus, of course, there was insufficient evidence because the Mcs fled as soon as the dogs started sniffing around. The Freinds decided en-masse to reject the calls for a reconstruction. They are the reason there is 'insufficient evidence' and they have worked for 10 years to ensure this.

All frivolous stuff, of course!

That's an idea, Dee Coy. The SC could offer them a deal. They will accept the "frivolous" accusation if they and friends accept to do a full reconstruction! Simple.
