I did wonder about the thanks girls at the end of the comment, but there had been another donation of £100 an hour before. It is a lovely gesture regardless and is featured on # McCann.

No one is sure why it is being ignored, but certainly the truth is that anyone who publicises it will then find themselves vilified online.

As a lawyer, you “don’t see any lawyer’s cases, just your own”, he added, which explains why anyone trying to research this case and where it stands will only ever find screenshots. With the August judicial holiday almost upon us, the chances of Amaral’s appeal being heard before October look slim - but in the meantime, the online appeal to help him pay legal costs is ongoing.

Intriguingly, this appeal that has joined over 2,000 people - many of them giving small amounts every week - has been virtually ignored by mainstream media. No one is sure why it is being ignored, but certainly the truth is that anyone who publicises it will then find themselves vilified online. As a legal expert agreed, “it is a curious mark of this case that anyone who does not comply with the accepted storyline will find him or herself being insulted, harassed and generally abused. I can see a story there, actually”. It is indeed a story. And as the expert warned: “You do realise that the minute you stop this rumour, they will find another one to bug you with, don’t you?”

Perhaps someone was thanking you both for setting up this website and put a donation in both of your names. If so it was a very nice gesture. They obviously admire the work you both do on this forum to keep it a very civil and pleasant place to post, as we all do.

It's good to see that AG has so many followers and people who respect him, it must be a nightmare for the McCanns and their followers to read the posts put up with the donations. I bet they've had many sleepless nights reading them all !! Smile

Had noticed there haven't been many updates recently, and didn't it used to say "created by Leanne B" somewhere before ?

I may well have missed it being mentioned, and I don't do Twitter.
Am I (as usual) quite wrong?

I got an update email this morning from the Fund with the new total - £36,550.

Yes, actually looking at it again it says from PJGA, so maybe Leanne has withdrawn and handed it over to GA's official website.

Yes Andrew the tweet was taken from Hideho's comment on the gofundme site this morning. Leanne only monitored the site until the target amount was reached. Just goes to show what kind of person she is, amazing, job done then she pales into insignificance. What a lovely lady, no ego, truly genuine.

I know. If on twitter on my laptop for example then see tweets every 30 seconds. (mainly from the paid lot).

If go off mobile, then not as frequent. Far from it.
