That sounds very interesting!
I wonder if it will include all the things he has said that he knows but hasn't published.

That picture of the "Real Kate" looks weird it looks like it has been age progressed and her nose is bigger than normal.

It's an awful picture!
I wish the press would call her Catherine - she has stated that she has never been known as Kate.

Very interesting.
So a second book.... Shouldn't that be a third book?
I wonder when GA 'revealed' he had completed the work..... As he didn't say anything on TV about it did he?
But he told the Express?
I wonder if it's a revised addition of the Truth of the Lie......
Anyway, It will be a bestseller that's for sure and can't wait to get my hands on one. Sod it will get a few. A few b'days in the Andrew family coming up.
(what an awful pic of Kate that is by the way)

I read it as a dig at Kate McCann, the papers ( especially the Express with the McCanns) like to get their point across via the only means available.
I read it as the real KM a cover up
Maybe just hopeful that things are turning

Prob best to stick that piece in the relevant 'Pat Brown Blogs' section (forgot about that).
A very uninspiring article. Again.

Seems she wants everyone to believe there's no hope and to give up, but I still have faith. Also, I get where she is with the twins but I don't think if the mcs are responsible, they get away with it for the twins.
IMO

Re: Fresh Agony for the McCanns - Portuguese Police Chief plans second book on Madeleine - Express 01.05.16
Very depressing reading but she is likely correct. The PJ knew 9 years ago tomorrow who was responsible. SY know who is responsible. Blair, Brown, the priest, the Pope, all know who lied but nobody has the final nail to hammer into this farcical case. Nobody holds the key to unlock the mystery. Yet I can't help but feel that, with pressure applied, one or other would have cracked by now. So why have none of them been more rigourously questioned? You might not get a conviction or even enough to press charges but surely you try to get to the truth. What police force in the world allows possible suspects, the last people to see the child alive, to dictate proceedings? And what police force would not follow every line of enquiry starting with the most obvious?dogs don't lie wrote:Andrew wrote:Prob best to stick that piece in the relevant 'Pat Brown Blogs' section (forgot about that).

You just need to look at the statements of the Tapas 7. A few facts gathered in the first few days then nada for a year. Then they were asked a series of questions, most of which were dictated by the former arguidos. Hideously faltering answers were left to peter out into nothing. No wrists were metaphirically slapped and nobody felt uncomfortable enough to give the game away.
Wasn't RoB even allowed to read Jane's statement? To refresh his memory ffs. When is that ever allowed in the Sweeney?
Then we had the farce of the non working video recorder.
I don't hold with Pat Brown's theory that it all happened on the night but I think she could be spot on here.

I think she gave up with McCase a long time ago. Around the same time her book got 'rucked'. Ever since then I get the distinct impression she wants her readers to do exactly the same.
She needs to get some fire in that belly of hers. For starters why can't she now proceed with getting her book back on the market.....
And that's a genuine question?

There was a tweet that I read saying words to the effect of PB left the case a year ago then comes back to dictate to those who stuck with it.
Just because one gives up, don't mean others have to too.

Amongst the goodhearted people on both sides of the #McCann case, there are indeed trolls the media speaks of; I just blocked some of them.

This is the bit which is so wrong when she has 'nicked' translations and material from other people who have done much unpaid work, with no publicity behind the scenes:
The truth may come to light sometime in the far future and I hope it does. But barring a miraculous appearance of new evidence that will allow someone to be taken to prosecution, we will have to settle for documenting the case for posterity and hope that all of our efforts - Goncalo Amaral's, mine, and everyone who put so much time into studying and publicizing the case - will have done some good.

http://portugalresident.com/maddie-cop-reveals-he-is-writing-second-book-as-ninth-anniversary-brings-rush-of-new-stories
Maddie cop reveals he is writing second book as ninth anniversary brings rush of new stories As the seemingly eternal mystery of what happened to Madeleine McCann exactly nine years ago fills yet more space in newspapers and on television, there has been a rush of ‘new stories’ - centering on anything from the Met’s unerring theory of a botched burglary, to a “secret visit” by Kate McCann last week to “walk the streets of Praia da Luz” and “hammer blow” revelations that controversial former investigator Gonçalo Amaral is writing a second no doubt controversial book. Through the habitual noise of ‘anniversary stories’, we have been told by UK tabloids that the Metropolitan Police is gunning for three Portuguese men - among them a drifter and a drug addict - but that PJ detectives have been loath to sanction further requests for interviews, as they say there is no evidence. What has changed - markedly in Portugal - is public discussion suggesting Madeleine’s disappearance may not have been an abduction at all but that, for ‘political reasons’, Metropolitan police orchestrating Operation Grange are simply not at liberty to think outside the box. Over the weekend, former PJ detective Moita Flores explained it was possibly for “compassionate reasons” that the McCanns were not prosecuted for leaving their sleeping children alone in the first place - stressing that in Portuguese culture “that kind of behaviour would not be tolerated as reasonable”. And in UK stories centred on the McCanns having pulled out of anniversary radio and talk show appearances, citing Amaral’s recent libel win as the reason. But perhaps the ‘bombshell’ story - certainly the one that UK tabloids seemed to think piles “fresh agony” on Madeleine’s parents - is the fact that Amaral is planning a new book on the three-year-old’s disappearance: one in which he “revisits the timeline”, says the Express. It is a book that he has been writing since 2009, and which he now says “with the probable departure of Scotland Yard from the investigations” is coming to an end. Amaral told the Express over the weekend that he firmly believes a proper reconstruction of the night Madeleine went missing “could produce a vital breakthrough in the £12 million investigation”. Crucial would be the engagement of the man seen carrying a child in his arms, Amaral told the Express. But as the tabloid explains, according to Scotland Yard, this man has been eliminated as an “innocent holidaymaker”. Adding to obstacles is the information given to the paper that Madeleine’s parents “do not wish to engage with anything Amaral says”. Thus it is another year with no answers - only different from all the others because Gonçalo Amaral’s book that the McCanns so object to is once more on sale in bookstores - and because Scotland Yard has revealed its investigations are close to an inconclusive end. natasha.donn@algarveresident.com
