@ Andrew - MY own opinion only but I don't think the chap running is at all suspicious or involved.

I also think that 'lurking' person doesn't appear to be fast of foot and perhaps an older person wandering late at night = not in the least suspicious.

This is what happens when CCTV of images is released to the public, everything seen becomes suspicious and takes wings because the public misconstrue perfectly innocent images.

The group not identified (of youths) might be more interesting I suppose.

Yes I totally understand about the 'takes wings' comment but I suppose you can't help but be over suspicious at time. Well for me anyway.

You see when a bloke is legging it through the streets at possibly the same time a young lad vanishes into thin air then the question naturally has to be asked?

But then again it could all be perfectly innocent as you say. Running to the taxi rank/night bus or something similar. The 'lurker' could just be an innocent lurker (homeless person) or something... scratch

Oh Andrew I certainly wasn't meaning you when I posted "the public"       Smile

It's just that f/b group has 60,000 members - incredible isn't it - and rumours begin there and chinese whispers don't help.   Some people there start posting stuff that isn't fact and it just runs away with stories.

I suppose everyone who reads news has their own take on what has happened there, and it is good to get differing theories.

No, I know you didn't mean me specifically Very Happy

It's very hard to keep up with that FB group as literally hundreds are comments are coming in all the time and absolutely that's where a lot of Chinese whispers evolve from etc.

I still stand by my original theory on this at the moment. But I did view the running man and the lurker as just a tad suspicious. But my little mind could've been heavily influenced from reading some of those FB comments I suppose.

So uncle Tony has posted a damning comment about the investigation team a while ago:

Question:

Forgive me if an obvious question.. but why could the cctv footage shown in Bury late last week, not be shown on news programmes on TV? To reach a wider audience? Think of you all everyday hoping for good news xx

Tony Wringe:

The same reason that the Investigation team immediately declared no third party was involved without any evidence to support that statement.

The same reason they have not made public appeals to ask for assistance with identifying all of these 23(+) outstanding individuals - even though that disk was made a month ago.

...because they don't have the resources to answer the phone - never mind actually record, analyse and investigate all of the information this publicity would generate.

*if* this is true, what would you do?

It's a strange one. It's as if the Police believe he's just upped sticks and started a new life somewhere.

Now if Corrie was 13 and not 23 then I'm sure they would be treating/handling the case completely different and they'd be no mention of 'lack of resources' at all.

But maybe the Police know things that the family don't know at this moment in time?

Your last line I think is true. Tony is stating things that AFAIK just aren't true and I'm beginning to wonder why:

Tony says:

The same reason that the Investigation team immediately declared no third party was involved without any evidence to support that statement.

Official PR from Suffolk police website:

Police are continuing to keep an open mind as to what has happened to Corrie, and continue to investigate all possibilities. This includes the possibility that Corrie may have attempted to walk home but not been captured on CCTV, that he has willingly gone with someone else or that something else may have happened. At this stage there is no evidence of criminality and nothing to indicate any third party involvement, however this continues to be subject to the ongoing investigation and nothing can be ruled out at this time.

The above is the first time the police mention the phrase 'third party' (October 10th) and it explicitly isn't ruled out so don't understand Tony saying what he did.

Yes, that is a bit strange with him saying that.

I kind of get the impression there might be some prior 'history' between him and the SP which doesn't have anything to do with Corrie.

I wasn't able to have my usual update from the police as I was busy at the hub. So apologies to all those awaiting an update. Tony will write a new one for us once I've been updated and can hopefully give some positive news about identifications and new images of those still not identified. Please please try to remain positive. I love that you are as passionate as I am about finding corrie but please try not to be offended at any remarks you perhaps don't agree with. Myself and the family do read every single comment. And we can simply delete what we don't feel is helpful or a repeated question. Please read www.findcorrie.co.uk if you want to know the facts so far. We will update you all as soon as possible..... CCTV has now been viewed till 12 on Sat x x x x

Tony Wringe A couple of things to help:

- if you've just joined the group, firstly welcome! Thank you for getting involved. It would be a real help (to you and us) if you were to please read the pinned post and check the website (URL given above) before posting questions. Thanks

- to clarify about the cctv; all of the footage shown in the pod is from AFTER Corrie went into the Horseshoe.

It is not ALL of the cctv footage available, but highlighted edits - the Investigation team have not shared the better quality, colour images, presumably because they have positively identified everyone captured on those images... presumably.

This is why none of the vehicles appear.

- we have received a number of posts asking about retaining the services of a Private investigator, please don't feel the need to keep making this suggestion. There are also no fund raising efforts supported by the family in this regard.

Just had a look on the Corrie FB group to see if any developments/latest news etc and the main posts from Tony/Nicola that allow all the comments appear to have been whooshed? Although I'm not a member so could just now be for members only I guess but then all the other random posts appear?

Well quite.

It appears some FB members were a bit miffed about it.

Nicola Urquhart - This is the only post I will allow on this page. I will not have anyone saying anything negative in any way what so ever about HRH. Please do not discuss this further on any post on this page. Thank you so much x

Just my personal opinion, but it seems to have inadvertently created some sort of lynch mob mentality on that f/b.

The Police, the government and now HRH being openly criticised by posters isn't doing anything to help the publicity which I imagine was the purpose when it started.

Seems to have grown into some uncontrolled monster really.

Facebook for missing people can be useful/helpful if well run (maybe the family should step back here). It can organise the printing and distribution of posters, give police updates, and if and when needed arrange groups of searchers in conjunction with police, and provide a base for information.

I do hope Corrie is found, but after so much time don't expect a good outcome here sadly.

That sounds like something that happens fairly often on Facebook, thinking particularly of malicious hoaxes usually designed to stir up hatred about immigrants, Muslims etc.

A rowdy element turns up baying for blood and don't stop even when told it's a hoax.

I'm not saying the McKeague supporters are as ignorant and moronic as that but things could get out of hand.

I feel bad for thinking this but it does seem to me that the family expects to be given more help and support than others in the same situation.

[03/12] Update
For those new to the site, please check the website at www.findcorrie.co.uk
Please refer to the previous updates, FAQ's and timeline details. Hopefully this will help avoid too much repetition of questions.
Please also could everyone be kind and patient towards others - we are all here with a common purpose, but will no doubt have different views and opinions on how to achieve it and how to interpret what is going on or what should be done... as far as I am concerned, the only opinion that matters is Nicola's. Posts or comments may be deleted for a number of reasons (please check previous updates for details) - please don't be offended if this happens to you, 'Be like Bill' and just accept that we truly value everyone's contributions and thoughts, but for our own reasons may feel the need to moderate certain posts or threads.
As I have described since the outset, there have only ever been 3 possibilities - this was recently reduced to only 2:
- Still in the area last seen.
- This option has been forensically discounted.
- Left the area ('Horseshoe') on foot.
- We know for certain that Corrie did not walk out of that area before 1200 on Saturday (including not in other clothing) and has not been seen leaving on the footage viewed up until 1600 so far.
- Left in a vehicle
- Investigation in to the vehicles continues
CCTV:
The family asked for the pod to be placed in the centre of Bury to allow the public to view the CCTV to try and help identify the 23 unidentified persons that had been captured on film. Despite a lack of Police resources to keep the pod open and operating at accessible times for the many people who wanted to assist, it was an outstanding success - there are now only 10 unidentified individuals remaining, following the Pod CCTV review. Investigation to discount those who were identified continues.
The Investigation team will release another set of images for public scrutiny in the next few days - they will be shared on this page when we get them
Nicola and Darroch have asked me to particularly thank everyone who came out to the pod and has been handing out leaflets. Many of you met and spoke with them - their overriding experience was one of heartfelt goodwill towards them and a sincere desire to do everything to help #findcorrie. The support this gives cannot be measured - thank you so much.
Search:
A Public search is being planned for a weekend - possibly 17/18th, as previously mentioned it will be under the guidance of trained professionals and there will be conditions on participation, based on age (must be over 18) and physical suitability for the terrain and conditions. Anybody participating will be doing so at their own risk. We will post an Event on the page shortly. Please sign up to the Event if you are able to attend so that we can get an indication of numbers.
We will also be looking to extend the delivery of leaflets out to Thetford, Mildenhall and Lakenheath, we'll be approaching USAF for support with this next week.
Media & TV:
We have worked with BFBS (Forces TV) in the past couple of weeks to film a short documentary which we hope will be ready for broadcast in the coming week or so. Nicola will let everyone know when that will be. Please watch and share as much as you can when it does come out.
Other media notices and appearances continue nationally and locally. You lot however, are amazing and mental in equal measure and we love you for it!! I've seen #findcorrie popping up in all kinds of places across the web and on live feeds - brilliant!
The Phone:
Corrie's Nokia Lumia phone is still outstanding. It was in a black case. We are still looking for it - please keep an eye out.
Social Media:
Many of you have noticed and notified us that you have seen activity on a number of Corrie's social media accounts recently - please feel free to continue to tell us when you see this, but please don't be alarmed.
There's other techie stuff going on in the background as you would expect nowadays - a few of you have posted about certain things, please just assume we are using all available agencies to the legal extent possible, but obviously we can't write about the details. What doesn't help however, is nebulous and unfounded statements being made on websites like Websleuths (where they have no greater access to information than we share with all of you on here) and it then gets repeated on here as fact - if you don't read it on here, from one of the family then treat it with caution.
Thunder clap & Twitter:
Jo Leach is organising another Thunder clap - please look out for the details and help if you can - they have been a fantastic success in raising public awareness so far.
Thank you's:
As always, the first thank you is to every single one of you. To know that almost 70,000 people have invested their time to look in to our plight; to help do something to raise awareness of Corrie's disappearance - or just to show some human decency and compassion in the street as we've walked past.... Thank you. I've run out of superlatives, just thank you.
Particular thanks to Ruddy Muddy, for lifting our spirits - you have a rare talent.
To all of the stall holders on the Christmas market and all of the shops in BSE - thank you for your sustained support and kindness.
To the staff at the Bull Inn for donating your tips to pay for leaflets - such generosity is truly humbling.
To SULSAR for running a marathon when funded for a sprint.
A number of you have mentioned it has gone quiet. It has... a little. There are a number of things going on in the background - the family are working on something which we hope to be able to share with you in the next 10 days or so. We'll be looking for all 70,000 of you to get involved when we do. More to follow on that soon...
In the mean time, please keep talking, sharing and caring - your engagement provides huge strength to Nicola, Makeyan, Darroch and the whole family every day - not just emotionally, but from an investigative perspective - it really does matter.
