What awful memories of the James Bulger case this invokes.
Thankfully, there was a happy outcome.

It'll be interesting to see how the CPS fare with that charge - short of a confession.

Re: The High Street Abduction
So arrested on intention...
So they must of confessed to doing just that. (Intention of horrible stuff)
A tragic and truly awful situation.
So pleased the little one was found quickly and is ok.
A terrible world out there. Madeleine sadly would vouch for that.

Bit more about in this article
They have pleaded guilty - not sentenced yet. I don't think that these two will be safe to release for a long time.

... not sure about that. Will reach 18, get released, given new identities, a 'start up' in life, job a place to live.. etc.
They'll come out of it a lot better off than they would of done if the crime didn't happen.
A few years in a holiday camp first.
Imo.

Real or hoax?
Alas, we know from the sentences on James Bulger's killers that outcome is quite possible.

The High Street Abduction
A really good news item, very long, to copy and paste. How those crucial hours and minutes are dealt with when a child disappears. Also on iplayer in 3 episodes on BBC 4.

If I have understood, Richard D Hall is is linking this with the Madeleine disappearance and saying it is some sort of hoax!

Re: The High Street Abduction
I've added a few earlier posts about this case to the topic.
I can't find anything to say that the two girls have been sentenced yet, 7 months after they pleaded guilty and that does seem odd.
This is what Richard D Hall has said.
If you don't think this is linked to the McCann case. Do some thinking. Mother not named, child not named, abductors not named, no cctv released. Nothing is check-able. If only Madeleine had been abducted in the UK, the police would have caught the perpetrators.
My favourite bit : The 101 non-emergency call, taken by handler KATE MCCAfferty, seemed routine.
I am not aware of any evidence which shows this was anything other than an exercise or a hoax

Re: The High Street Abduction
They were sentenced back in July. As they are 13 and 14 years old nothing more will be known in public.

I'm sure I posted about the outcome of this one on the 'misc crime' thread many moons ago. But anyway what's Hall on about...linked?
He needs to take a breather from gawping into space.

Yes it is from around 6 months ago Andrews, but Ms Helicat from the BBC tweeted the link to the new article about how the police handled this abduction, with the person being given access to how it works, and a very good write up it is too. Just because there are no names given, which is highly understandable, some are immediately thinking it is a conspiracy, and somehow linked to Madeleine case Oooo, and the callers name was KATE MCCafferty - what a coincidence

Re: The High Street Abduction
Thanks bluebell for posting a link to the verdict - perhaps it was too late in the day for me yesterday but I really couldn't find anything about it.
Richard must know that under-age criminals, victims and their families aren't usually identified.

I think I've seen somewhere that the thrust of RDH's "work" going forwards will be about how much of what we perceive as reality is actually in some way fake. I would still, personally, give about 30:70 on the entire MM affair being a fabrication of some sort. The thing is once you become so cynical (some might say rational, if they were feeling particularly generous!) it's difficult not to view everything else through he same prism. I've openly speculated on here about the Jo Cox murder being in some way linked to the Clement Freud revelations, for instance. What was the commissioning, making and broadcasting of The Missing really all about?

Can't speak for RDH but I suspect he would say that the very fact it has received such detailed coverage by our state mouthpiece is reason for suspicion in itself - they only really tell you what they want you to know.
