It can be used for purchases like buying a house or building equipment.

Oh my Goodness!!  Fancy the use of the word siphoning!


The most recent accounts filed last month covering the financial year 2015-2016 show a balance of £714,800. Of this total £547,226 is classed as “restricted funds” having been siphoned into a separate account. Accounts for the financial year 2016-17 do not have to be filed until the end of December – to be made public in mid May next year (2018).

It is understood that neither Kate nor Gerry, a world renowned cardiologist, draw any living costs from the Fund – although it once paid their mortgage for two months while they remained in Portugal as suspects in their daughter’s disappearance in 2007.

I wonder if this is an attempt to get the great British public to fork out more money for the fund to prevent the dire possibility of the McCanns actually paying for something themselves.

"Kate and Gerry vow to make use of lifeline savings to help find Maddie if anticipated British police funding is not forthcoming. They insist they will fund a continuing global hunt themselves".

There are far less gullible mugs around now so I can't imagine there will be a rush of donations.

'Siphoned off' has only pejorative connotations. Tracey could have easily said "set aside" couldn't she.

Tracey isn't the brightest star in the sky and perhaps doesn't know the less than honest meaning of the word.

I wonder where the money is coming from to pay the court fees?

It won't be from their own pocket, you can be sure of that.

This article does them no favours and makes them sounds well dodgy. I wonder what the time limit is for them to pay the costs of the court case.

As at the time I typed this, there is one comment in support of the McCanns and that's been shot down with a comment about the cadaver dogs marking the scent of death in the apartment.
