The online shop selling Madeleine McCann merchandise to help highlight the missing girl's plight and raise funds for her search has abruptly been closed down by her mother Kate.

Too-busy Kate has told how she has unfortunately had to shut the website store selling travel packs, T shirts, posters and car stickers bearing her daughter's face with slogans 'Please don't give up on me' and 'Still missing, still missed' because of her 'many commitments and pressures.' 

In another fresh blow it has been revealed that donations from the public to the Maddie Fund have dwindled to 'virtually zero' over the past 11years.

Madeleine McCann’s mum Kate closes online fundraising shop due to ‘many commitments and pressures’


MADELINE McCann's mum has shut down the online fundraising shop which helped highlight her plight to find the missing girl.

Kate McCann wrote on the store: "Unfortunately due to many commitments and pressures, I am unable at this time to attend to website orders.

"We greatly appreciate your support. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to Madeleine's Fund through our Online Store (donations can still be made via one of the methods below).

"Your support means a lot to us.



"Your kindness and generosity is no less appreciated however and continues to buoy us up.

"Thank you again."


It comes amid claims that donations to the family's fund have dwindled.

A source said: 'The idea that money is still flooding in is just wrong. Donations dried up a long time ago. At times the story comes into the news a few kind people send in a quid or two but their is nothing of any real value."



Madeleine McCann disappeared just days shy of her fourth birthday during a family holiday to Portugal in 2007.

The public response was overwhelming in terms of grief, fascination and a desperation to find her.


This goodwill translated into an outpouring of donations to the fund set up to “leave no stone unturned”, which topped £1.8million within a few months.

Yet now, after 11 years of failed investigations all over the world and lengthy legal battles, the donations have diminished.

Hmmm - surely one of their many supporters like Pam Gurney who has too much time on her hands would be glad to step in to deal with orders.

The truth more likely is that nobody is silly enough still to be ordering the tat.

 I’d like to know where Tracey #kandohla gets off on spewing old news like it’s recent! Latest article in @MailOnline says kate #mccann has been forced to close down the online shop! Utter BS seeing as Kate posted that message on OFM back in Nov last year!!

It has been said ....they look like lottery winners holding a check for a huge amount.....

Re the closure of the online store due to Kate's immense other commitments (what can those possibly be?), surely the twins, who were 13 last Feb, would be able to put T shirts etc into a jiffy bag and take to the Post Office?

As far as I know, the photo of the McCanns holding up the T-shirt is genuine. We know from other instances how they were able to look like lottery winners very early on, particularly coming out of church on what would have been Madeleine's 4th birthday.

So poor old Kate was actually too overworked last November to carry on - and we never knew.
