I wouldn't bother, it's a load of sickly sentimental twaddle by Kate's wee pal Tracy Kandhola. First they play the "sick relative" card, then there's some rubbish about rainbows. I was waiting for the sparkly pink fairies and unicorns to put in an appearance, with maybe a couple of kittens for good measure. (But no dogs).

That sums it up nicely!

At least it's not spitting venom though.

Not many public appearances these days, wonder why they have gone camera shy? I wonder if they were expecting a backlash? Their recent win went down like a lead balloon, all their attempts to stir up hatred against Goncalo Amaral is being turned against themselves. Hate breeds hate, its a pretty basic fact of life. Team McCann oozes negativity and malevolence, when you give that stuff out it will all eventually come back.

Kate and Gerry have much to be paranoid about, they are living in a hell of their own making, any phone call or knock on the door could bring their world crashing down. Up until recently, they have had the 'front' to face anything, while in PDL, every day was a photo opportunity, nothing, absolutely nothing, not revelations about blood, cadaver, or being made arguidos stopped them from giving interviews and appearing in public.

The 3rd of May is THE big day in the missing Madeleine calendar, but what is it the anniversary of for them? There is a definite move by the McCanns to make the main anniversary, the 12th May, Madeleine's birthday. Understandable, because the subliminal message is, she's alive and getting older - so will they arrange all the publicity for then?

I'm sceptical about the sick relative excuse I'm afraid, I somehow doubt it would have stopped them appearing on Oprah or attending their night of 1000 balloons. Their non appearance is a definite sign their confidence is waning, even their win has backfired, and their imprison all trolls campaign is getting nowhere. On the other hand, with all the support Goncalo Amaral is getting, its hard to tell who the victor of the libel trial was, right now it appears to be Goncalo Smile

Well, how far is it from Rothley to Liverpool?  100 miles....  A quick drive there and back easily done, surely you would want to attend the service.   McParents miss 8th anniversary 3392635135

But it does tell us two important things:

- Kate's dad is ill enough to make them miss a chance to reinforce the 'still searching' message, and

- the Paynes are still very much in support of the McCanns and are prepared to publicly assert that fact.

It is interesting that the McCanns were not determined to make an appearance following their 'victory' over Goncalo last week. Is Kate's dad really so ill they would miss the opportunity to reinforce that, or are they sensitive to the shifting change of public opinion and are nervous of making a scheduled public appearance?

(I hope this post doesn't belittle the condition of Mr Healy - that was not my intention. He is suffering from a terrible illness and I hope he improves quickly.)

I was thinking that, Markus.

My mother used to say that claims that a relative was sick in order to get out of doing something should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

Gone into hiding by the looks of it.

All going wrong for them. Rightly so and great to see.

What's the next excuse for Kate to miss that cycle ride thingy.

Yet again, another article that does them no favours imo.  The public will be wondering, why didn't at least GM attend and leave KM with her sick father.

The distance from Rothley to Formby (just outside Southport) is 125 miles.  Most of it on the A6, M6 and M57.  Two hours drive.  They can't even leave Grandpa for a few hours to attend their own daughter's memorial service.  Naw, not adding up.  Evil or Very Mad

Sadly, there is NO improvement with Parkinsons, it just gets worse (I had an uncle who died of it). It is a long-term, crippling disease. If Kate really cannot leave her father's side then he must literally be at death's door. Only the reports don't say that, they just say he is "ill", not that he is in a critical state or anything else. I think it's much more likely that the revolting, lying mare is now dragging her poor old sick father into her games, same way as she dragged in those poor wee twins. She has no shame or morals whatsoever. Probably gets it from that hatchet-faced mother of hers.

The two things coinicide, the daughter would spend the day with her dad,the SIL could of course attend a memorial service for his missing daughter the mum could also I'm sure her family would understand.

Are there any independent reports (i e not by someone like Tracey Kandohla) that the service even took place?

Maybe I'm being overly suspicious - can anyone blame me though? - but there are no photos in her report to confirm that it did happen.

Mind you, photos are of course the absolute last thing in this case which provide any proof whatsoever!

The report actually used pictures from last year's service. You'd think they would at least have had Auntie Fifi reading out the fairies 'n' kittens poem.

It's not just me then!

It seems unlikely that Fiona Payne would have objected to being photographed if she was there.

Indeed. But the point is the Paynes are happy to remain publicly supportive of the Mcs, in name at least even if the gathering didn't actually take place. What of the rest of the friends? Do the Paynes have more of a vested interest in the outcome of this, or is it simply that they are closest to the couple?

Considering that they should be,if not jubilant,at least determined and fortified by the court decision and of course the 28 new burglaries, one would think that the service would have been a must to reinforce the search for Madeleine.

I think they do.
Payne did the alleged 30 second / 30 minute visit, and Fiona, also a qualified anaesthetist was present, allegedly, during the early evening with whatever children remained.
Then she Fiona, remained with Kate for a long time with neither of the two qualified anaesthetists doing any of the proper checks for vital signs on the two totally comatose children, which anyone would have expected of them. Gross professional misconduct and Negligence on both their parts . . .

Unless of course they both knew exactly what had been administered, in what dose, when, and by whom.
