Re: Daily Star 13/05/15 - Kate McCann hit by internet trolls on missing Maddie's 12th birthday
Reads like an old article: change age, insert new charity drive, leave the offerings of presents in her bedroom..
This last ingredient is so sickly by now that even the TM supporters should feel seasick.
Amongst all the heartstrings of the UK population to tug, that bedroom where Kate opens the curtains in the morning and closes them every night, that bedroom where presents for Maddie have been stacked for 8 years - is easily the tackiest and tabloid-worthy one.
Incidentally, I'd have to check but the present-giving started off the other way: with the twins getting a card from Maddie in Febr. 2008.
Apart from the bedroom full of presents, Kate told a journalist in PdL in June07 that she put Maddie's pyjamas on Maddie's bed each evening (in the apartment lent to them by MW) .
I have a question:
How come that there were drawings made by MBM on the kitchen wall yet not a single item of her handywork from the creche anywhere? Might that be because she was never there?
Otherwise imo these items would have been used as grappling hooks for the above mentioned heartstrings.
If this is to continue we will be looking at a first car bought for the 17th birthday. Pink, parked in the drive...
Sorry going on about this but for one thing I hope it isn't true if only for the sake of their remaining children.

Kate McCann hit by internet trolls on missing Maddie's 12th birthday
INTERNET trolls sent cruel messages to Kate McCann on missing daughter Madeleine’s 12th birthday yesterday.
By Jerry Lawton / Published 13th May 2015
Kate, was abused as she appealed for sponsors for a cycle challenge to raise cash for missing children.
Trolls even made donations to her Just- Giving page so they could access it to leave hate messages too shocking to print.
But supporters urged Kate to ignore the abuse.
One wrote: “Keep strong Kate and don’t let the trolls get you down.”
Kate and husband Gerry, 46, yesterday laid presents in their abducted daughter’s bedroom to mark her birthday at their home in Rothley, Leics. Kate, 47, is hoping to raise £10,000 by taking part in a 500-mile cycle challenge from Edinburgh to London next month.

I just had a look on her 'give me more money' link and couldn't see any of these so called nasty messages at all.
Have they been deleted then?
I have not looked at it from the day it was announced so was there any in the first place or has it just been made up?

So Kate hasn't actually been "hit" by anyone, then.

I actually read a copy of the Star when went out for my lunch. (I didn't buy it - it was lying about). The word 'hit' was not used in the paper version anyway.
Not that it makes any difference. Still a shite paper with shite journalists telling shite.

Just playing catch up here & I'd like to add a couple of comments:
1) The word "hit" was used deliberately in the internet headline as clickbait. Jerry Lawson must know about Stephen Birch's threat so used it to his advantage (followers of events online would see the words "hit" and "Kate McCann" and put 2 and 2 together) but it would have been pointless to use the same word in the paper edition as most readers wouldn't grasp the significance.
2) The only comments I've seen on the Just Giving website that Kate would find upsetting are ones where the donator has taken the opportunity to highlight some of the facts of the case. Perhaps when Jerry Lawton calls these comments "too shocking to print" he means that The Star is too cowardly to print.
My thoughts only.

Back again with another thought!
If the comments from the trolls are too shocking to print, surely the details should be passed to the police.
If they are as bad as Jerry Lawton is making out, the police will be left with no option but to take action ...unlike the comments in the dossier which the police described as distasteful but not illegal. Just sayin.

And they shouldn't be too hard to trace, if they have actually left money. So let's see some action then Jerry!

Here is a thought. A journalist friend of mine has told me the press have their hands tied re the Macs and any negative press because of fear of libel. They have to assume innocent until proven guilty. ( Seems to apply to some more than others though) He did allude to the fact things are so different compared to 30 years ago. Litigation rules.Poe wrote:Back again with another thought!

This is my take on the "vile troll" label and I may be totally wrong here but it is it possible some more responsible members of the press know in their hearts what is true so when they talk about trolls they can repeat some of the accusations without it being them making them?

I'm sure your journalist friend is right, chirpy.
It's interesting how little McCann
The anniversary of the disappearance and Madeleine's birthday would, in previous years, guarantee wall to wall newspaper coverage, tv sofa hopping, age-progressed pictures etc.etc. To use an analogy, we have gone from an ocean of news to just a few puddles and an eerie silence. To continue with that analogy, that's a sign that a tsunami is headed the McCanns' way. I don't think that many journalists would be bothered about the puddles when there is a wall of water on the horizon.
Hopefully.

Agree, when the truth comes out, the papers will write everything they can get their hands on IMO.
But, for a huge rise in sales, everything revolves around money IMO.

Moneywise the McCanns aren't in a comfortable position right now:
- Their finances must be dwindling and they'll eventually reach the point that they can no longer afford the protection of lawyers.
- Mr Amaral is getting close to the point where he literally has nothing left to lose so may decide to reveal all he knows.
- Newspapers are losing money hand over fist. How long before one paper decides to cut it's losses and go out in a blaze of glory?
Not to mention Operation Grange or that any one of the many people involved could have an attack of conscience and blow the case apart.
I'm sure Kate & Gerry could list dozens more nightmare scenarios that just wouldn't occur to me living, as I do, in my little stress free world.

Re: Daily Star 13/05/15 - Kate McCann hit by internet trolls on missing Maddie's 12th birthday
Also, now with more public looking into the files and wanting to know where their money went probably, if I'd donated in the early days I'd be fuming to learn it wasn't used to actually go looking for their child, ya know, what parents tend to do when a child can't be found. Even 2 seconds gone, parents would be frantic. Soon they'll be relying on donations again, but with educated public there'll not be much I think. Someone still thinks most of the public still believe Madeleine was abducted, but it's pretty clear most don't now. IMO
Ps, can't wait till I have a stress free life, children and hospitals are a constant worry lol x

When you really think about - surely there can`t be ANY journalists that REALLY believe the McCanns - they would have to be on the `simpleton` spectrum to actually be taken in by it all. If not, they`re being paid handsomely to support a lie.

Here it is DDL...
Vile troll jailed for offensive Facebook posts about missing Madeleine McCann and murdered toddler Mikaeel Kular
August 2015
[*]By Rory Cassidy
A man has been jailed for vile outbursts he made on Facebook which included mocking the death of tragic three-year-old Mikaeel Kular and missing Madeleine McCann.
Jamie Milligan also threatened to rape a friend during when he turned internet troll online on January 17 last year
The 26-year-old posted his comments while the hunt was ongoing for little Mikaeel.
It was later revealed that the little boy was killed by his mother Rosdeep Adekoya.
On his page, which was open to members of the public to view, Milligan wrote: “To the wee boy that died - get it up ye ya wee p***, I woulda done the same if I had a kid haha yas.”
When several of Milligan’s Facebook friends “voiced their displeasure”, he replied: “I don’t care if the polis see this tbh, f*** them.”
When a female Facebook user replied “so many twisted people out there”, Milligan said: “F*** it I battered my maw and I’ve battered my ex bird.
“My gran as well, I used to give her abuse and batter her when she was ill.”
Again a woman expressed her disgust at Milligan’s comments and he replied with an obscene remark about missing Madeleine McCann and added:“I’ll rape you by the way ok.”
Milligan later insisted he was only joking and blamed his outbursts on the fact he has Asperger’s Syndrome - a form of autism.
Mikaeel’s body was found the day after Milligan's posts, with his mum later jailed for 11 years for beating him to death, hiding his body in a suitcase and burying him in woodland in Fife before reporting him missing from their home.
Milligan was arrested and charged on January 21 last year and “sobbed uncontrollably” when interviewed by police, telling officers: “I’m not the type of person that would rape someone.
“I know it’s wrong.
“I’m not on Facebook anymore, I’ve shut it down.”
When he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court last month, Milligan pleaded guilty to two charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive way by posting offensive comments on Facebook.
He admitted making racist remarks he made about the death of Mikaeel Kular and threatening to rape one of his friends.
He also pleaded guilty to spitting in the face of one of the court’s custody officers while being held in the cells in the building.
Sentence was deferred on Milligan so he could be assessed by social workers.
When he returned to the dock today Gordon Ritchie said Milligan had an anger management problem and would be a target for other criminals if he were jailed.
The defence solicitor said: “This is a boy who has very serious problems but they cannot be used indefinitely to explain his conduct or justify or minimise his actions.
“My concern if he were to be incarcerated is that he has a history of being bullied and picked on by others because of his mental health difficulties.
“I can only imagine what would happen if he found himself in custody - the experiences he would have may well lead to more serious complications in the future.”
He asked Sheriff Tom McCartney to spare Milligan jail and make him the subject of a Community Payback Order with “a lengthy period of supervision” so he could receive help for his difficulties.
But the sheriff ruled there was only one way he could deal with Milligan, and locked him up.
As he jailed Milligan, of Paisley’s Kilnside Road, for 160 days, the sheriff said: “The offences relate to Facebook postings.
“There was a racial aggravation and there was a threat of serious sexual violence.
“Messages of that kind cannot be tolerated in any circumstances and the fact they are put on a social media site cannot be allowed to provide any shield or protection.
“The offence of assault by spitting is in itself offensive but is made worse by the fact it was committed in this building.
“Only imprisonment is appropriate.”
Milligan - who supported in court by an appropriate adult to help him understand the legal process - showed no emotion as he was told he was being jailed.

He wasn't jailed for "offensive Facebook posts", he was jailed for threatening to rape people, and for race hatred. The Judge clearly thought that was serious enough to warrant jail time, so it must have been pretty bad. Nothing to do with Madeleine McCann, yet again the Mirror have jumped on a bandwagon using the flimsiest of excuses to get the Mcs back in the paper again. Where is Maddie even mentioned in this article, BTW? Apart from the lurid headline?dogs don't lie wrote:Could be wrong place but I'm drifting off ATM,

Exactly Resistor, anything to get the mcs in the news, they're not the reason he was jailed at all. Makes me sick! (Them in the headline I mean)
