We seem to get post or flyers most days on the election campaign.

On a different note, lot of discussion on police cuts and Theresa May not delivering either as HOme Secretary before or PM now.  Here is the Home office graph of figures, she can't argue with that.

If only someone had given Karen Bradley this chart, she could have answered the question on whether the number of armed police has been cut

'Everyone listen to Conservative policy wonk' - Labour's Trickett

Shadow Cabinet Office minister Jon Trickett has said he thinks "everyone in the country" should listen to David Cameron's former policy chief Steve Hilton, who has publicly called for Theresa May to resign.

Mr Trickett said: "The former policy wonk in number 10 Downing Street who worked for the Conservative party has called for her resignation. And he did so because there are serious questions which need to be answered."

Good grief ! We should be more like the French who resist such abominable words entering their language. They (the French) will not bring the word "hashtag" into their language.

We have a wonderful Latin based vocabulary - I just hate all these new words being entered into the Oxford Dictionary. Will admit that I am fascinated by old dictionaries - I love words - it's about time English readers realised how many words we do have in our language, not just the 200 or so in everyday use.

I understand so little of internet and SM stuff, but I'm certainly not convinced by T May's comments on this.
One step closer to restricting or closing down internet/sm perhaps?  This would of course stop instant news reports, information being transferred to the public around the world - no, no Mrs May, don't go there.     Evil or Very Mad

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40158149
London attack: Politicians v the internet

The PM says internet giants have provided a "safe space" for extremist ideology

Prime Minister Theresa May has said more must be done to tackle terrorism online.#

In a speech on Sunday, following the terrorist attack in London, she said the internet provided a "safe space" for extremist ideology to breed.
But technology companies and cyber-security experts have warned that tighter regulation of the internet will not solve this problem.

Messages sent online can be scrambled as they leave one device and they remain scrambled until they are deciphered by the recipient's device.
This is end-to-end encryption, and it stops messages being read by third parties - be it criminals or law enforcement - if they are intercepted.
This adds valuable security to the messages we send online, which could contain private information, bank details and personal photographs.
Some apps such as WhatsApp already add end-to-end encryption to messages automatically.

Our Government not worried about Isis and a few deaths here in the UK.  They are more worried about maintaining Russia as their enemy, so have to keep friends and funding powers that fund ISIS.

They will not change their foreign policy.

Tonight`s Crosstalk was good.

Note today Montenegro has now become a member of NATO, much against the wishes of it`s population. USA will plant bases there soon - creeping closer to Russia.

With one new opinion poll suggesting the Tory lead over Labour is down to just one point, the Foreign Secretary will say the thought of Mr Corbyn as Prime Minister makes him "shudder".

Boris Johnson tripped up in live interview after he attacks Jeremy Corbyn for something he did himself

The Foreign Secretary was shut down by the BBC, who reminded him he also opposed 90-day detention - putting him on the same side as the Labour leader

Blustering Boris Johnson has been tripped up on live radio after he attacked Jeremy Corbyn for voting against anti-terror laws.

The Foreign Secretary was caught out when the BBC reminded him he also opposed a key law - putting him on the same side as the Labour leader.

The Tory's current 1% lead is from a poll taken on Saturday BEFORE London's terrorist attack. Theresa can't benefit from that. With more polls due in the next few days, perhaps JC will appear on top!

Our favourite politician, Diane Abbott, has been taken off further television appearances after her superb (?) performance on Sky last night. We'll miss her starring roles - not.

Yes, she has been shut up by the looks of things. They should do the same to Boris, they have a nerve to criticise Diane Abbott, but imo he is far worse. To think I used to like him. Embarassed

Labour's Diane Abbott pulled out of a debate on Radio 4's Woman's Hour at late notice after she was "taken ill".

The shadow home secretary had been due to face questions from the public on the BBC programme on Tuesday morning alongside politicians from four other parties.

The programme announced her withdrawal just after 8.40am, less than 20 minutes before going on air.

It tweeted: "A change in the #WHdebate line-up this morning: @HackneyAbbott taken ill. @UKLabour say finding a replacement."

However, she was spotted at Oxford Circus Tube station - near the BBC's HQ - minutes before her appearance was cancelled.

Hadn't seen Diane Abbott interview last night, actually quite felt sorry for her, as they are now going out of their way to belittle her. Dermot you could see was doing everything he could to trip her up... I know she should know her stuff, it is just that she doesn't have the ability to dodge and sidestep and change the direction of conversations like some you could mention. What a farce this election is turning out to be.

Astoundingly this planning of this arranged violent attack happened. How come these things don't go viral when a member of the Tory government is involved. Imagine if this was Abbott or Corbyn? From the ever-reliable Craig Murray:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2011/04/boris-johnson-and-violence/amp/

oken arm, he will not be put into intensive care or anything like that. He will probably get a couple of black eyes and a … a cracked rib or something.
Johnson: Cracked rib?
Guppy: Nothing which you didn’t suffer at rugby, OK? But he’ll get scared and that’s what I want … I want him to get scared, I want him to have no idea who’s behind it, OK?
Johnson: If I get trouble, if I get…
Guppy: You will not, Boris. I swear to you. If you…
Johnson: [unaudible bluster]… I got this bloody number for you. OK, Darrie. I said I’d do it. I’ll do it. Don’t worry.
Guppy: Boris, I mean it; I really love you.
More details from this same conversation are available here, including this nugget not included in the published audio:
Guppy: But Boris there’s absolutely no ******* proof: you just deny it. I mean, there’s no proof at all.
Johnson: Well yeah…
Guppy: I mean, you know, big deal. You’re sitting in Brussels and the day it happens you’re in Brussels, it’s as simple as that.
By now you may have noticed that Boris Johnson’s primary concern is that his role in this planned assault will be discovered. Also, just in case there is any doubt about the nature of the information he promises Guppy, here is a fuller transcript of the tail end of the conversation, where he promises to deliver both the phone number and address of the man Darius Guppy plans to have beaten in a revenge attack:
Guppy: Well do it discreetly. I … if it’s in any way going to look suspicious. That’s all I require – just the address: the address and the phone number … all right? Now I guarantee you, you have nothing to worry about. [Slowly, emphatically] Believe me. All right? You have my personal guarantee. I’ve never let you down, all right?
Johnson: OK Darrie, I said I’ll do it and I’ll do it. Don’t worry.
Guppy: Boris, I really mean it, I love you and I will owe you this, all right? And I’m a man who keeps my word.
Guppy was a Bullingdon Club member along with not only Johnson, but also Osborne and Cameron. I do hope you call and listen, and do hope it comes as a wake up call to those who believe the carefully crafted “compassionate conservative” propaganda."

-------------

I haven't tried calling the number to listen, though.

YES, she most certainly SHOULD. Why didn't she just own up to the fact that she hadn't read the report or if she had, hadn't given it a second thought? The thought of Abbott, Corbyn, McDonnell and Thornberry forming a Government is  unimaginable. Luckily the electorate have not got a death wish and it'll never happen. I have absolutely NO doubt that the Tories will win this election with a huge majority. I feel almost sorry for Labour supporters who are getting their hopes up for nothing. The electorate is just playing with you to skew the polls for a bit of well deserved fun.

So you don't mind if you get dementia, nannygroves? Perhaps you don't have children? And are you confident that you don't need all the winter heating allowance? Are you happy to think you may be in hospital for an extended period because there are no social workers to look after you at home?
