Hi Freedom sorry I forgot to log out last night. My activity log is fine,my only problem is that everything seems to be running slow.

I had another run-in yesterday with members of one of my groups over whether something is funny or not. This old hoax story reappeared but with a photo of a genuine couple who have nothing to do with winning the lottery.

Many people seemed to believe it was true and thought it was hilarious and others called the woman a gold-digger and worse. Then someone who knows the couple (and whose photo was being used without permission) said that it was very offensive and should be removed.

This led to a heated debate with most people going for "can't you take a joke, you miserable git?"

I'm quite happy to admit that I'm in the miserable git brigade. I certainly have a sense of humour but this sort of thing is spiteful, putting real people up for humiliation and abuse.

I'm just interested to see what the opinion is of people here about it.

It`s a favourite banter of bullies - "Can`t you take a joke".

I hate hoaxes and jokers. I used to hate that Jeremy Beadle programme - people don`t realise the harm it can do.

Remember that nurse that killed herself after that Australian couple played a hoax pretending to be the queen or something.

My father in law (now dead) was always playing jokes on people like sending nudey mags to his friends` houses to get them into trouble with their wives. And of course they would always have to get him back ... and so it went on.

The only hoax I`ve found funny is when Noel Edmonds set Richard Whiteley up. Richard took it so well.

I didn't mind the Gotcha jokes as they were played on celebrities and they weren't spiteful.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I loved Candid Camera - but at least I was a child then - and I also watched Game For a Laugh when I was old enough to know better!

I'm wondering if my usual IP address has been blocked as I can get in only via a proxy server.

There was a topic about Mother Teresa which had to be removed because some posts were abusive. I didn't see it and I don't of course condone the abuse.

The group's admin then posted a separate topic about it - the one I saw - explaining what had happened and that the offending members had been banned.

Someone then posted that he couldn't see how Mother Teresa was a relevant topic for a British nostalgia group and was promptly banned. I thought that was OTT and posted that I agreed with him - and now I'm out too!

Ah well, I don't want to be in a group like that anyway.

It`s an interesting group by the looks of it.

What a petty excuse to bann you - sounds like another `if you don`t think like me then you`re wrong` type of group !

I was happy with the group; looking back at my private messages with the group's admin, he was grateful to me on a few occasions for alerting him to some really offensive posts - he's on his own now!

If anyone wants a topic about Mother Teresa, let me know - I don't think it will be a surprise to anyone to hear that she wasn't quite as saintly as she is usually portrayed.

There are a few familiar names there - I love the image that has been put up for Jill Havern! If Pam Gurney (or whichever troll is behind this page) thinks that is a photo of a real person, she really is even more slices short of a loaf than we already knew.

One of them is a friend of mine but not through Madeleine related stuff. I messaged them to alert them to it.

Most of the photos have I imagine been taken from the Facebook pages of these people but there are a few which are a bit worrying.

One is of the deceased daughter of the person the photo is claimed to be.

I barely know who any of these people are, but there seem to be a heck of a lot of them!

There certainly are a lot of people who don't believe the McCanns now.

I know maybe a dozen of the names. I'm not there by the way - I have yet to be named and shamed.
