Various cases where children have been left in hot cars
There have been a few cases like this though usually the children are younger.
http://www.msnewsnow.com/story/31950775/baby-in-hot-car-death-identified
It seems very strange that nobody saw that a child had been left alone all day and then for the mother not to notice when she drove from her office to the nursery is well nigh impossible to believe.

Parents arrested for leaving baby in car for 30 mins
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-36482405
Parents held as baby left in 'stifling' car in Newcastle-under-Lyme
1 hour ago
From the section Stoke & Staffordshire
Police were called to Wolstanton Retail Park on Tuesday evening
The parents of a baby have been arrested after he was left in a locked car in "dangerously high" temperatures, police said.
The "visibly distressed" child was taken to hospital with heatstroke after about 30 minutes in the car at a retail park in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Police forced the vehicle open as temperatures reached 25C (77F) at 18:00 BST on Tuesday.
A woman, aged 24, and man, 28, have been arrested on suspicion of neglect.
'Could have died'
The baby was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he was also treated for the effects of dehydration.
More updates on this story and others in Staffordshire
Det Ch Insp Amanda Davies, from Staffordshire Police, said: "This incident could have easily resulted in a child dying had a vigilant member of the public not alerted emergency services.
"The boy was clearly distressed and the conditions in the car would have been stifling."
The Stoke-on-Trent couple remain in custody.

What an incredibly thoughtless thing to do.
This child is lucky to be alive.

We have also had a similar case in the area where I live, somebody posted picture of a young baby asleep in a parked car at a local superstores car park left alone for over 30 minutes. The comments on the facebook included several about the Mccanns which were not very complimentry .

I don't know if there have been any fatalities in the U K but there have been a number in America.
The father of one victim is currently on trial for murder.

I've added an earlier post which was on a separate topic. That one still seems to being treated as an accident - hmmm!

Snipped:
Justin Ross Harris simply forgot his son was in the car.
That's what defense attorney Maddox Kilgore hopes jurors will believe as they weigh the evidence in the first-degree murder case against Harris, with trial proceedings that begin today in the coastal Georgia town of Brunswick.
Harris, 35, is on trial for the first-degree murder of his son, who died from hyperthermia while locked inside the family SUV in June 2014 in Marietta, Georgia.
The high profile case looked like a tragic accident. But investigators subsequently said they found Harris had researched child deaths inside vehicles before his son perished.
'Evidence will show this was the worst imaginable death for a child,' Cobb County assistant district attorney Chuck Boring told the jury during opening statements Monday.

The verdict. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/14/us/justin-ross-harris-trial-verdict/index.html
I must admit to not being convinced of his guilt - even his now former wife isn't - but it is hard to imagine how anyone can forget that they left a child in a car; also there must have been people coming and going in the car park all day; how did they not notice the poor child?

Re: Various cases where children have been left in hot cars
This 7 month old baby was the only child of the parents. the dad was to drop her off at her creche on his way to work. the mother had recently returned to work after maternity leave. I cant understand why she was left in the car when she was expected in the creche.

More information here.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4544124/Baby-dies-father-forgot-left-car.html
I always wonder how, in dreadful cases like this, somebody passing by, having parked in the same area, didn't see the baby.

These little ones were knowingly and deliberately left for 15 hours during extreme temperatures

Texas toddlers die 'after left intentionally in car for 15 hours
Two young sisters have died in Texas after their mother allegedly left them in a car for 15 hours in temperatures of up to 32C (90F).
Amanda Hawkins, 19, left the girls, aged one and two, in the car at 21:00 on Tuesday (03:00 GMT Wednesday) to visit friends nearby, police said.
Her daughters cried during the night but she ignored them, a sheriff said, and returned only at noon the next day.
Ms Hawkins finally took the children out at noon the next day and found them unconscious.
She tried the bathe them, the sheriff said, but fearing she would get into trouble did not seek medical help immediately.
Only after a friend suggested it did she take them to the nearby Peterson Regional Medical Center.
She reportedly told staff that she, the teenage male and the children had been at a nearby lake and the girls had "collapsed after smelling flowers".
"They thought maybe they'd gotten into something poisonous - that's what the story was," Sheriff Hierholzer told the CNN affiliate station KABB.
"She left them in the car - intentionally in the car - while her and the 16-year-old male friend were in the house," he said.
The girls were quickly taken to the University Hospital in San Antonio but died at about 17:00 on Thursday.
Police say the charges may now be upgraded.

Words fail me - here's another case from Texas only last month with children of the same age.

The mother's story makes others we have heard elsewhere seem believable.
More about the case that bluebell posted on.

No surprise that this mother's story was a pack of lies - see the last but one post.

It happens everywhere...
That article's barely written in English.
Poor, poor mother.
There was a case local to me of a wee fellow dying in a hospital carpark -
- and his poor dear routine-changed-busy-and-distracted surgeon mother :
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/65289871/mother-collapsed-after-finding-child-in-car
I remember that day as an absolute stunner - and then hearing of this tragedy...
So, so awful.

I try not to think about what it must be like, trapped in what can only be described as a fiery tomb.
What happened to the mother in that case, Rosa? Was she ever charged with any crime?

The aftermath...
Hello Freedom -
Mum was charged with manslaughter, but discharged without conviction.
She's had another baby and is back working at the hospital.
This other New Zealand case is of drugs-induced neglect :

This one didn't end in tragedy.
It is a puzzle how, in other cases, nobody noticed that these poor children were there.
