It's Suzanne Accosta Bill Wyman's wife. I don't think his marriage to Mandy lasted more than a couple of years, although not certain.

Amazingly, Bill will be 80 in October so he's not much younger than Rupert!

He married Mandy Smith in 1989 when he was 52 and she was nearly 19.

He has been married to Suzanne since 1993.

Don't want to go off topic here, but I have just been reading up on Bill Wyman, according to what I have just read, his son Stephen to his first wife married Mandy Smith's mother.
I hadn't a clue about that.

I don't believe that's true. They were definitely "an item" at one time but they broke up without ever marrying.

Nor do I Freedom, I would have remembered that. However : In 1989 Mandy Smith 18, married 52 year old Bill Wyman bassist with the Rolling Stones from 1962 until 1993. That same year Mandy's mother Patsy Smith 49 married Stephen Wyman Bill's 31 year old son.

I've been rummaging around too! I have found one or two articles which say they were married but I still think this is not the case.

This is from an interview with Mandy when she was 23.

We're sitting in Mandy's white conservatory. She shares her Muswell Hill home with Pat and her sister Nicola. Patsy has moved out but works here, as Mandy's agent. A year ago, Patsy broke up with Stephen Wyman, 33, reportedly at Mandy's wedding. Mandy becomes cagey. Then lets slip that they're back together.

‘When Bill found out, he wouldn't talk to Stephen,' she says. ‘He sacked him from work about six months ago and said, ‘If you go out with Patsy, I don't want to see you.' He was going to take Stephen out of his will.' Now Bill and Stephen are reconciled and Stephen (‘he's very clever') works for his father, typing his next volume of autobiography.

How did Mandy feel when her mother started a romance with Stephen eight years ago? ‘It was like, ‘Oh God mum, how could you? He's so young, he's Bill's son and what will people think?' But before she went out with a man who drank a lot and lived with his mother.'

I read that too Freedom, which leads me to believe Patsy and Stephen never married, too much at stake for Stephen. As I thought I would have remembered this.

One bit that doesn't make sense is that Bill sacked Stephen "six months ago". Why only then if the relationship had been going on for 8 years?

Anyway, let's not worry about it any more!

Lots more photos - if anyone can face them! At least the happy couple haven't had to raise a bit of cash by selling the rights exclusively to Hello or OK magazine.

I hadn't seen David Bailey when I posted yesterday about Bill Wyman winning the scruffy git award - he is definitely the number one candidate.

There seems to be a bit of confusion. Yes, that is Mandy Smith.

How attitudes changed in 30 years!

I don't remember the Jerry Lee Lewis scandal of 1958 personally but my mother talked about it in later years. He was over in the U K for a tour with his new wife - his cousin's daughter - who turned out to be 13; he was a youngster himself (compared to Bill Wyman) of 22 but had been married twice before!

I say married, but the second one was bigamous as was the third one.

Can you blame her? She probably hoped that her mother had somewhat better taste. Imagine even having to share a room with that old toad.

Ugh!

Hilarious comments under the Independent story  Very Happy .

I like this one:

What we really want to know is who was invited but refused to attend. Murdoch has shown himself over and over to be a destructive individual with no empathy or morals, and who misuses his media power. So who would want to suck up to him and attend his wedding? Due note should be taken of the celebrities and politicians who did attend, and people should stop supporting them.

I notice Geldolf in attendance looking, imo, too cheerful for a father who has just lost a daughter under the most tragic circumstances.

To be fair to Bob Geldof, it is nearly two years since his daughter died.

I'm sure that he will never forget her and life - with smiles - has to go on.

I didn't actually start this thread. I posted the Jagger article on the 'will Theresa May do the right thing' thread.

Yeah - it's not going to last long is it.

Ridiculous really. He's still popping zits and playing computer games.

She must be rich and he's thinking ahead perhaps.
