Very interesting!
Would be great to have an English version to reach a wider audience.
I mentioned that could make him cannon fodder, but he's not afraid of that ;-)

Here's an unoffical translation of the summary in English:

"Journalist Peter Scharrenberg studies the very extensive Portuguese police files about the missing three year old toddler Madeleine McCann. On 3rd of May 2007, she mysteriously disappeared from her bed in a Portuguese holiday village, where she was on holiday with her parents Gerry and Kate. According to them she was abducted by a paedophile burglar.
During his investigation Scharrenberg found two important witnesses in the files, who apparently were completely forgotten or missed by the police and because of this did not play a single role in the investigation. These two witnesses however, already one day after the disappearance, made very incriminating statements for Gerry McCann, the father of Madeleine. Because of this one must seriously doubt the correctness of the time line that was made by the police at the time and which has always been used as guidance in the investigation. The implications of these statements from these two 'forgotten' witnesses are enormous, as it seems to show that the father Gerry himself is the 'abductor'. Also, because of these statements, a Roman-Catholic priest and a retired English business man are shown as possible helping hands in hiding the body of the toddler. Both men have never been investigated.
In this book he describes the most important investigation results, witness statements and forensic evidence and puts these in the right context, through which, according to the author, it becomes ever clearer that the parents must have been involved in the disappearance of their daughter and that they had help."

He`s the first one I thought of too. All very odd, that was.

why would the author risk a Carter Ruck libel suit just to get this off his chest? When anyone on here actually sees the book could they let us all know because I won't be supplying anyone with my name and address, or sending them any money, until I know it's real (and even then I'd still be suspicious).

ETA to my knowledge he's been writing other books on major crime. Cannot verify [yet] the success of it, but it seems he did.

at least - very positive is that there´s a growing awareness of this case in other countries too - not only in the UK

So the Rev Sedden gets a call from Kate's friend and then later on a call from Kate herself at 1:30 in the morning on the 4th, plus call from Gerry.
That's another couple of people with tenuous connections and completely unable to do anything being contacted with urgency within a couple of hours of Madeleine apparently going missing and when the parents could have been searching.

It's amazing they managed to get off their phones long enough to find time to insult the police and swear at Mrs Fenn...

So sorry, hardly any awareness at all.
We've had two crimewatches but afaik that's about it.
I had to explain what it was about when I ordered Kate McCann's
book in a big bookstore.

This book wont alter that. It will not be available in shops.
I ordered one. They print on demand. One by one.

It's content, however, could raise awareness.
I'll just wait and see.

Did it say how long it will take, parapono, for your copy to arrive and do you have a link of where to order a copy of this book....
