14th October is the anniversary of the Crimewatch special.  Also, there's that 2&2TV thing on the 12th, but I've not been very convinced by them yet, and this media campaign must have been in preparation for some time before it was announced.

In my opinion the McCanns have no idea when the investigation will conclude, so they are treating the Crimewatch anniversary as a potential date for 'something' happening.  Also, they know that Redwood is retiring soon.

Wasn't there a similar media blitz in the weeks leading up to the announcement of the SY investigation?
