Well I voted Leave, but don't think a Hard Exit is the best way. It's what Theresa has lined up for after Brexit that really worries me. I think we must support our NHS, including the staff, our Police forces, and other public services - but I don't see the Conservatives doing this. As for Labour, I'm very unhappy that Diane Abbott is in a key position. But the build-up to Thursday is enthralling.

So agree on Diane Abbott, I've no confidence in the woman at all ...never understood how she has got so far in politics.
Consoling myself with the thought that when a new Prime Minister is elected their Cabinet is often changed. Can but hope.

Thank you for explaining where your signature comes from - I will certainly watch the story of the Winslow Boy which I`ve never read - I had heard of it though.

I think there would be a re -shuffle of positions, I don't think for a minute she would be Home Secretary affraid pale Probably a smaller role and less important would be my guess.

The Survation poll, for The Mail on Sunday, was taken after yesterday's BBC Question Time election special with Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May.

In total, 72% of respondents had seen or heard something about the debate.

The poll suggests the Conservatives are on 40% (down 6), Labour 39% (up 5), Lib Dems 8% (no change), UKIP 5% (up 1) and others 9% (up 1).

Survation interviewed 1,049 UK adults aged 18 and over online during the course of today.

Watch the old black and white version with Robert Donat, It IMO is class.
This is also a classic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodbye,_Mr._Chips_(1939_film)

Last night`s attacks in London will probably boost TM`s popularity as I can`t see JC being tough on terrorism. However many people are agreeing with JC and coming out and saying it`s our foreign policy at the root of all this - the Tories are denying this - which they would of course.

In the aftermath of the Manchester attack we learned of the knowledge of, and even the use of, these terrorist elements by our security services. Surely Theresa May should be asking the Home Secretary to resign?
Then again, she was Home Secretary herself when these terrorist elements wee sent to Libya as a proxy rebel army. The public needs to make sure that they are both removed from power.
Security is the measures we have to take to avoid attack, injury and losses from the actions of others. They alone are responsible for the many dead and maimed victims of the Manchester atrocity.

I would assume that our security services, i.e. MI5/6 are a law unto themselves and act completely independently of Amber Rudd or TM. I find it hard to believe that having been an MP and moved up into the cabinet, one is suddenly brainwashed into being a monster that would kill our own people. It`s a shame that our government under Labour and now with Theresa May, Michael Fallon, Boris Johnson openly admit they believe what the USA says and follow the leader in meddling in Iraq, Libya, Syria etc. Our government is totally brainwashed by the USA and are now nothing more than `yes men` or should I say `yes women`.

It is pretty obvious that this happens in the USA when a president is elected - in walk the CIA and say `this is how it`s done`. But I find it hard to believe our MI5 waltz into No. 10 or the Home Office and convert TM or Amber Rudd into murderers.

As Putin describes :-

Home Secretary from 2010, cut policing, cut costs yet stated "We should build a better Britain" (?). What on earth is she talking about - does she ever ask her speech writers what they mean ?

IMOO but this woman should have a lot on her conscience. Go ahead, increase taxes, increase budgets to policing, security, public service. Tax the rich, tax the companies who are based overseas yet deal in the UK, stop benefit payments to immigrants without jobs (other European countries do this, why don't we?).
No wonder we are a 'soft target'. Make your vote count on Thursday, get the government that is needed, a government that is based on the needs of the majority of the country not the top 10% of high earners. Otherwise I think I'll emigrate.

So fed up and angry at what I see happening here. I am all for a multi racial society - but a multi cultural society can never work so time for the PC-ness to stop !!

Please everybody who cares read John Pilger's  articles.   It is so important to be informed, how can anyone come to a reasonable assessment of what is happening without true facts.

Jeremy Corbyn is so right about detaching from the USA. We never will under a Tory government - it makes me sick. I think our establishment are still under the impression we are in the Victorian era when we were doing much the same as USA is now - but then I suppose the Americans are mostly descended from us ! Where do we get our warlike genes from? I suppose most of us are Viking/ Roman ancestry - no wonder !

It`s interesting that there are only 22 countries in the whole world that Britain has not invaded. Considering there are about 200 countries in the whole world - that`s pretty abominable.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/9653497/British-have-invaded-nine-out-of-ten-countries-so-look-out-Luxembourg.html

I`m tending towards Corbyn at the moment.

Amber Rudd and her disingenuous cronies know exactly what is happening, why it is happening and the necessity for the UK public to be kept ignorant of what is happening.

Watch as she reacts to Nicholas Wilson as he starts to spill the beans about Saudi Arabia, their role in international terrorism, and the Tory government's role in supplying arms to Saudi. She writes a note instructing the Chair to make him stfu and the Chair duly obliges, confiscating the microphone.

Governmental censorship in action, and on this occasion, for all to see.

Has anyone else had next to no information as to who is standing in their area? Normally there are loads of election leaflets pushed through the door but this time all there's been so far is one each from the Tory and UKIP parties and two from the same independent no-hoper.

I haven't even been able to find a list of all the candidates on the Internet.

If there was a Monster Raving Loony candidate, I might well select him or her!

No worries. I was just going to look up the last couple of election results there because it sounds to me as if you're in a safe seat. If so, what your experiencing is what many of us get every election time - completely ignored because our votes don't matter.

You can find a list of all the candidates that are standing by looking up your constituency here:

That's where I looked before. It only lists 4 candidates - Labour, Lib Dem, Tory and an independent - and there are certainly more than that.

P.S. I'm embarrassed to admit that I was looking at the wrong constituency - North rather than South - and there are six listed there.
