I posted a link on 7th January - James's mother describes how she is haunted by knowing that if she'd turned right rather than left when she ran out of the shop to look for him, she would have seen him being taken away.

If the focus is on the treatment of the killers since then - and being released far too soon - then that makes sense.

Yes, far too many being released too early. It is quite scary, I am thinking of Worboys in the news just recently.  Others who have not served enough time imo are Tracie Andrews, the road rage liar and murderer, and also Karen Matthews who caused so much heartache and pain for others, mainly her poor daughter, who am sure is traumatised by it all and will never forget, and cost to the police. 

Encroaching into this thread but here is the story on Tracie Andrews.  Just 14 years for stabbing her boyfriend in such a frenzied evil attack...

Back to the topic, I feel there should be an enquiry as to why these people especially Venables is being let out only to re-offend.

James Bulger's father Ralph is on Loose Women today. I haven't got time to watch it now but just caught the introduction. You could feel the raw emotion from him.

I actually agree with Ralph. He had his chances and threw them away. Why should public money be spent on protecting his identity?

It is the problem with likely attacks on the wrong people which concerns me though.

There's a programme on Channel 5 tonight at 21.00 with promised new revelations about the case.

They are reported to include quotes from Robert Thompson admitting that he had a better life after killing James.

This has led to predictable anger from James's parents as they have always said that the killers were rewarded for what they did and not punished.
