Kate and Gerry McCann will leave gifts in her pink bedroom, as they have every year since she vanished aged three during a family holiday to the Algarve in 2007

It really is time someone (anyone?) pointed out to Kate and Gerry that stacking presents in a missing (dead) child's room every year is beyond weird. That's if indeed they do. I actually hope it is part of the 'Madeleine is alive' myth, because if it is isn't, the lives of the twins must be horrendous. Do they accompany their mother to buy age appropriate gifts for Madeleine? Its sick and its cruel and it really ought to stop, a home with a built in shrine is not a healthy or indeed, happy environment for the remaining siblings and if the rest of the family are encouraging the parents, then shame on them.
Kate has also reported that she opens the curtains in Maddie's room every morning and closes them every night.
The present-giving started in 2008 -in February 2008 iirc the twins got a card and/or present from Madeleine.
Same children who were told their sister had been taken away by a 'monster' - On record . Wonder how well they slept after that bit of news.
Pity the Pike skipped the child psychology course.

Re: McCann Christmas Messages
I do not believe the xmas present story. A couple too mean to pay a babysitter would hardly buy presents for a missing child!!!!
Now wouldn't you think they'd come up with a media friendly story/photo opportunity by giving presents to the local childrens hospital/orphanage etc at Xmas. That would remember Madeleine in a more positive way if children in need got the presents she would have had. The thought of unopened presents piling up in the bedroom 'shrine' is quite sick when many children have so little.

Totally agree, except for the word 'quite' - outstandingly, outrageously, unbelievably come closer but still not quite close enough to the words in my mind for such thundering bad taste.Antonia wrote:I do not believe the xmas present story. MSM love it of course, imo suggested by them in the first place.
The very good alternative would never occur to either TM or the MSM. Imo.

Quite agree. Yet another example of the McCanns' breathtaking knack of demonstrating what they believe to be 'normal' behaviour whilst revealing themselves in actual fact to be bizarre oddities. It's part of the narcissm thing - they're clueless about normal human emotions and behaviour. In my opinion.

Because people might start asking why there's also a pool table, dartboard and home bar in there?Freedom wrote:I've said it before; I'll never know why the McCanns (particularly Kate) have missed a valuable marketing opportunity. She has never been photographed in Madeleine's bedroom, looking suitably pensive, with all the piled up presents.

Those could be carted out before the photographer arrived!

But the pool table, dartboard and home bar along with the golf clubs, ipad and flat-screen tv are Madeleine's presents - it's what she would have wanted.

I agree. Children are very sophisticated these days. And wasn't Madeleine, according to Kate and in her book very advanced for her age, reading books not normally read at her tender age?

Not to mention a fan of that very suitable group the Pussycat Dolls.
For those who think that they sound like cartoon characters (as I did) here they actually are.

The parents of the missing baby Lisa Irwin are following the McCann example as you will see here but they actually have let the photographers in.

Re: McCann Christmas Messages
Yes very bland and short and sweet.
An interesting sentence - 'we will continue to make the best of what we have.'
What does that mean? We'll make do with the two children left? There's no mention of the twins nor even of their names. Would you not expect a sentence about Sean and Amelie missing their sister/ or the Xmas message to be signed Kate, Gerry , Sean and Amelie?
Did a PR person write this, or is it 'from the heart' ie written by Gerry and Kate/
