Sir Cliff Richard
Oh dear......
Sir Cliff Richard: Police inquiry 'significantly expanded'
Police raided Sir Cliff Richard's home in Berkshire, last August
An historical sex offence inquiry into Sir Cliff Richard has "increased significantly in size" and involves "more than one allegation", police say.
The expansion of the investigation meant no date could be given for when it would be concluded, South Yorkshire Police's chief constable said.
It comes after police raided Sir Cliff's Berkshire home last August.
He was interviewed about a claim of a sex crime involving a young boy, but was not arrested or charged.

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
His supporters are absolutely rabid, l'm forever getting into spats with them, they seem to think he can't be guilty - because he's sir. Cliff. WTF?

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
IMO he's always had this undefined sexuality about him, which makes it kind of believable he might have ...

There have been rumours for as long as I can be remember that he might be gay - which would have finished his career off back in the 50s and 60s - but that does not of course mean that he is interested in anyone underage or unwilling.

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
His sexuality is irrelevant.Rumours that he has revoked his British citizenship and become a 'Barbadian' have some interest as they may not have an extradition agreament ? and we will see if he sticks his head above the parapet of his 'safe house' and continues his sell out tour of the UK later this year.

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
Assuming that the guest list is accurate, it still doesn't mean that he was involved in anything that we would today regard as abhorrent (such as raping children). Context is everything and before it was a haven of paedophiles it was a meeting place for gay men so if he's gay, he could have been there for entirely innocent (by today's standards) reasons. This could all be distraction - look at Cliff Richard not at Leon Brittan (or any other genuine paedophile that I cannot name due to oour repressive libel laws)Andrew wrote:.... Re: Sir Cliff Richard
You couldn't NAME leon Brittan in respect of abuse or elm guest house but as soon as he's dead it's speaks of allegations on the news!
So much so that he's now buried in an unmarked grave for fear of desecration. It stinks really.

It`s not the gayness that raises my suspicions but his `getting into the god stuff`. It`s the best place to hide one`s sins and still be plausible in the eyes of the general public. Scratch the surface and there is often a very flawed soul underneath.

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
Former home secretary Lord Brittan faced questions from police before his death about whether he ever visited the notorious Elm Guest House.
Detectives were planning to contact Brittan and three other living former Conservative MPs – as well as two pop stars – to ask whether they had been to the guest house for gay men that also operated as a paedophile brothel.

Cost's not being revealed.
Strange that recently the ongoing cost of OG have been revealed but a ongoing investigation into allegations against Cliff Richard aren't.
Madeleine McCann gets a mention.

Cliff Richard abuse probe police draw veil of secrecy over investigation
Madeleine McCann gets a mention.

Police probing sex abuse claims against Sir Cliff Richard have drawn a veil of secrecy over their investigation.
Senior officers have refused to disclose any details of their progress in the 13-month probe into claims about the 74-year-old pop legend.
Sir Cliff has not been arrested or charged and has vehemently denied all the allegations from the start.
South Yorkshire Police even blocked requests from this newspaper for simple details made under Freedom of Information laws.
It comes amid repeated reports that one of the three allegations against Sir Cliff has been dropped by police – raising questions over the future of the investigation.
The secrecy now surrounding the investigation comes in stark contrast to its launch in a blaze of publicity, when police searched Sir Cliff’s home with a BBC camera crew in a helicopter overhead.
A source said: “All this secrecy doesn’t inspire confidence in the police operation.
“No one has the slightest idea whether the police are making progress. There appears to be no timeline.
“It is all very strange. It appears detectives hoped people would come forward with corroborating accounts when the initial allegations were made public.
“What’s happened since then is anyone’s guess. All we know is a further allegation will not be proceeded with.”
The South Yorks force has flatly refused to reveal details commonly made available, including how many officers are working on the Sir Cliff probe, codenamed Operation Kaddie.
It declined to say how much has been spent, or whether anyone has been interviewed under caution over allegations against the Bachelor Boy singer.
The force said it did not need to provide details under Freedom of Information laws because it intends to reveal them when the probe is over.
This is known as a Section 22 exemption. But other forces have released similar details of investigations – even into major crimes such as the Met Police hunt for missing Madeleine McCann.
The force wrote: “Staffing figures, costs and the Senior Investigating Officer debrief are to be provided at a date when all proceedings related to the operation are determined.
“At this time the balance lies firmly in waiting for when it is deemed appropriate to release figures that can be determined to be accurate and complete.”
Sir Cliff was at his holiday home in Portugal in August last year when police raided his £2.5million mansion in Sunningdale, Berks.
Footage of the raid was broadcast live on the BBC. The singer has described the claims as “absurb and untrue”.
One of the alleged victims claims he was 15 when he was assaulted during a Billy Graham rally at Sheffield United’s football ground in 1985.
More than 47,000 people attended the event and it was revealed last week that Sir Cliff has affidavits supporting his claim that he was never alone.
It was also suggested there are inconsistencies in the alleged victim’s description of the surroundings.
A second allegation was made by a man who claimed to have taken part in a music video in 1981.
The questions they won't answer
These are five key questions from the Sunday People that South Yorkshire Police refuse to answer:
How many officers from South Yorkshire Police are working on Operation Kaddie?
How much has been spent by South Yorkshire Police on Operation Kaddie?
How many people have been interviewed (including, but not limited to those interviewed under caution)?
How many people have been arrested under Operation Kaddie?
Has anyone been charged with any offence under Operation Kaddie?

Re: Sir Cliff Richard
Anyone know if Cliff's 75th Birthday Tour is going ahead??
I looked At the Royal Albert Hall and there are a few tickets still available for over £800.
Still surprised he didn't attend his friend Cilla's funeral, I'm sure her family would have appreciated it. IMO

I think that it was another close friend, Dale Winton, who was unable to attend due to prior commitments.

Singer Sir Cliff Richard has been re-interviewed by South Yorkshire Police after meeting with officers voluntarily, his spokesman has said.
The entertainer, 75, was interviewed under caution last year by detectives investigating a claim of a sex crime involving a young boy in the 1980s.
He has never been arrested or charged.
The allegations are "completely false", and the star co-operated fully and answered all questions when he met with officers this week, his spokesman said."

Mimi, have deleted that, I know it has been around, but we do not know if it is real - so best not to have it just to be on the safe side.

Fair enough - but an odd selection of names to `make-up` IMO.
