Crikey, RIP Tim Spigot-Smith. I thought he was much older than 70 though, not a great age nowadays after all. Was he known to be unwell?

They`ve been advertising a programme coming up about a woman who is 117 on the World Service - I expect they`ll cancel it now she`s died.

I'm just a few years late with mentioning this one.

Is there anyone here who was watching Tommy Cooper's last appearance in 1984 when he collapsed and died on stage? I was watching the programme but, at the vital moment, had bent down to pick something up off the floor. When I turned back to the TV, the curtains were being drawn which seemed odd but I had no idea that anything serious had happened.

Did anyone here realise that this wasn't part of the act?

I watched it whilst ironing, I didn't realise until most of the audience stopped laughing when he reached the floor. I think once the curtains were drawn there was a break.

Yes, it went straight to a commercial break and then the final part was shown; top of the bill was I think Donny Osmond.

Following on from my link about Prince, I've just been reading this link. I did know that he and his then wife lost their baby in 1996 but it wasn't well publicised. A very sad story.
