Re: Celebrity deaths
This chap has been all over the news in the last 24 hours.

I've never heard of him myself.

I was going to post that myself, thinking that you would have heard of him!

Re: Celebrity deaths
Not totally unexpected and he had a good innings so sad but not so sad I would say. I love this photo of him and Richard Kiel taken not long before the latter died.

Re: Celebrity deaths
He certainly did have a good innings. Jaws was a legend as well. This is quite possibly my fave Bond scene of all time.

Re: Celebrity deaths
I never really liked James Bond but I liked Roger's Bond because he brought himself to the role, a really funny, gentle man. Very sad news on a dreadfully sad day.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Just thought I'd stick this short clip up as Richard Kiel was mentioned.
And I could do with something to make me smile today with all the sad news. (Although this is not really the appropriate thread for that)

Roger Moore was always my favourite Bond as well, doc.

Re: Celebrity deaths
I was thinking of him for some reason yesterday so before he died.
It was quite scandalous at the time - back in the mists of time when I was a child - that he was still married to the singer Dorothy Squires but was living with another woman and they had two children. He wanted to marry her but, in those days if one partner refused to agree to a divorce, the other had to wait for seven years before it could be granted.

Some of us might remember him even if, like me, it's only because he was once married to Cher, the third of his six or seven wives!

Re: Celebrity deaths
Sad to hear about John Noakes, he WAS Blue Peter to me
Suffered from Alzheimers for some time and was living in Spain I believe? Poor chap, but his family feel it a merciful release. RIP

You've lost me there, Chrissie.
Not all posts need a reply. If you've asked me something and I haven't replied, give me a shove (metaphorically) to wake me up.

I bet we all remember Alec Gilroy. Also liked Roy Barraclough doing those skits with Les Dawson.

Hi Freedom, my apologies. I've had a bad few days but that is no excuse so I am sorry.

This one is a shock but unless you follow football then you probably haven't heard of him:

Former Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has died aged 30 after collapsing during training in China, a spokesman for the player has announced.

RIP. The old classic Batman series was one of my faves as a nipper.
This chap isn't dead but he's running out of his 9 lives:

Re: Celebrity deaths
The 1960s Batman series was a favourite of mine too.
Here's a short clip, not that we ever saw it in colour back then.
