Re: Celebrity deaths
Sort of a claim to fame here. What a sad story - I know too well what Will means by having to walk away at times.

Very sad indeed. Irrespective of the details of this particular tragic case, I think the policies of the last four or five months of so will have a direct effect on mental health and also physical health. What has struck me, and indeed others, is how particularly unbothered our leaders are - or appear to be - about the negative consequences of the measures taken to allegedly curb what they describe as a 'pandemic'. The negative consequences of 'lock-down', of not going to work, or college or school, not seeing family and so on.
As though no-one has anything else to worry about apart from a virus that in the vast majority of cases will cause no serious ill-effects. How long are people supposed to be obsessed about a virus that will probably not affect them? A few more months? A few years?
Given that the vast majority of people who were very ill or tragically died with coronavirus (as opposed to from it) were either very old and/or had serious underlying conditions then the statistics are quite meaningless. How do we know those people wouldn't have died anyway? It is true that there appears to have been a spike in the death figures for a few months but figures returned to normal weeks ago so why are leaders still behaving as if we are in the midst of a 'pandemic'?
What else is happening that we aren't being told about? (Apart from a rise in mental health illness, domestic violence and death including suicides.)

Re: Celebrity deaths
One of life's characters. I shouldn't admit to ever watching Celebrity Big Brother but I saw the one where she and her former daughter-in-law Brigitte Nielsen were there together.

The song was a favourite with me before it was hijacked by feminists.

An anniversary one - John Lennon would have been 80 today and here's the song he wrote about his son Sean who is 45 today.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Could we not be positive and have a discussion thread Celebrity Births?
We could also discuss the 'unusual' names some celebrities give their offspring.

On the 15th anniversary of George Best's death, one of the few other footballers I've heard of.

Yes. Richard's mum, Atlas Mountains hotelier and board member of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. Well, she was, anyway.

Re: Celebrity deaths
How very sad. Such a lovely man with a great sense of humour. He's the grandfather everyone would want to have.
Today at 6pm the Prime Minister is asking for us all to go out and clap for him at 6pm.......... he deserves that at least from us all.
Rest in peace. Captain Sir Tom Moore, you were an inspiration.
