No, don't remember that but his role as Quentin Crisp won him many awards.........

Re: Celebrity deaths
One of the earliest roles that I remember him for - the doomed Timothy Evans in the real-life drama 10 Rillington Place.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Made this thread a sticky so easy to find. Hope this puts a jinx on it and we don't see so many now, quite a few already since the beginning of the year.

Yes I do. "I Claudius" wasn't it, with the quite brilliant Derek Jacobi as Claudius and the equally brilliant John Hurt as Caligula.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Yes, it was what I was referring too.
"I Claudius" with the great Derek Jacobi.
"Caligula" the film was good, but not grand.
Oh, and have you ever seen the even great Orson Welles as Claudius in a movie, which was never finished?

Being of a certain age - all right, an old git - I remember him from Emergency Ward 10, he was a bit of a heart throb.

Re: Celebrity deaths
Yeah, I remember him too, was looking at pictures earlier of him in the hospital drama. Used to love that programme. He lived to a good old age though.

Remember the programme, but not the individual characters though.

Re: Celebrity deaths
The best known actors were I think John Alderton and his then wife Jill Browne.
I'd have to cheat to come up with the characters' names though!

Blimey, that's a shocker, was only reading something about her a couple of weeks ago. Very sad, thought she was great in I'm a Celeb a couple of years back.

I hope that The Mail hasn't buried Tara prematurely. I can't find anything else about this. Here is the BBC's most recent report.

Re: Celebrity deaths
This isn't a recent death but there might be people interested in this programme about Terry Pratchett.

Re: Celebrity deaths
I'm a great Archers fan and had heard a while ago that Sara was suffering from terminal cancer.
Caroline (her character) was an interesting and important one. I am very sorry to hear of her passing.
Sara Coward, The Archers' Caroline Sterling, dies at 69

Re: Celebrity deaths
It was natural causes for Tara.

Still no funeral for George Michael pending the results of toxicology tests. I don't recall hearing of a case where this has happened when the death has been classified as having no suspicious circumstances.
