That link to the Australian paper doesn't work for me.

Re: Dave Edgar: what an ace private investigator!
This is also an interesting article, thanks for the links Andrew - I do wish we could get such factual articles published in our own papers to inform people clearly - not read what TM want us to read.
Worth a read in full, copied a bit below:
The reconstruction that never happened caused "damage" to the McCanns, according to a final 17-page report on the 14-month long investigation.
Portugal's Public Prosecutor stated in the report that the McCanns "lost the possibility to prove what they have protested since they were constituted 'arguidos' (a formal suspect): their innocence towards the fateful event."...........
As negotiations for the reconstruction rumbled on, members of the Tapas 7 relayed a number of concerns to Leicestershire Police, questioning the motives of Portugal's investigation.
The Policia Judiciaria responded with assurances around security, detailing that the Tapas 7 could bring their lawyers, and that no images or video would be released to media.
In the middle of May 2008, with Maddie still missing more than one year on, it became clear that the Tapas 7 were refusing to travel to Praia da Luz for the re-enactment.

Interesting juxtaposition of words in the sentence above. If Madeleine was the victim of a sex attack then why would her parents necessarily have nothing to do with it? Detective Amaral believes that Madeleine died that week and her parents faked an abduction to cover up her death. If the parents had nothing to do with her death/disappearance, then why would they fake an abduction?
But of course, it is true - someone or several people ARE protecting Madeleine's killers. Presumably this was one of the reasons the McCanns used money donated by the public
One of the top experts on the case, he also believes:
There is
It was a well planned abduction.
There was
Good grief - where the heck is Inspector Clouseau when you need him? This case makes our police force a complete laughing stock.
IMO!

Ha! But of course they couldn't prove what happened. Any more than they could prove their innocence.
Innocent people would do anything to prove their innocence, imo, including a reconstruction. By refusing to do it they proved something else.
I assume they realized that by going back and doing a reconstruction they would demonstrate to Portuguese police that their version of events was indeed as flimsy as it already appeared.
But at least we have on record the TM version of events with the reconstruction made for the 'Madeleine was Here' series which would make for amusing viewing were it not for the fact that Madeline went missing and is dead, according to Dr Amaral.
Their arrogance is amazing - they think they can get away with 'proving' what happened with their ridiculous reconstruction which is simply dripping with red flags - for all the world to scrutinize for ever - but refuse to go back to Portugal even though the Portuguese police guaranteed that the reconstruction would not be made available to the media.
Their arrogance was always going to be their downfall. Oh how the mighty have fallen, or are about to.
The Madeleine was Here series is all the evidence you need, imo, of who the perpetrators of the crime might be.
IMO!
RIP Madeleine.

If the chocolate is as waxy as whatever the hell they're making Twirls and Wispas out of these days then I would say almost certainly yes.

Re: Dave Edgar: what an ace private investigator!
So how does this theory of this former ex cop Edgar square with the former ex cop Mark Williams-Thomas. Oh dear, totally different and both rather not convincing. I should leave it to the professionals chaps, the PJ and the Met, I'm sure we will have the answer very shortly.

Re: Dave Edgar: what an ace private investigator!
I agree with her about paedophilia - there's some very fallacious reasoning on the basis of a small girl dressing up. With this sort of logic I would be locked up because my daughter spent a great deal of her preschool years dressing up and how wonderful and innocent those days were. I dread to think what TB would make of it if he new I allowed my daughter and her friends to play with naked Barbie, Ken and my little pony all at the same time - I think I'd be locked up!

Another David Edgar story
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/789545/Madeleine-McCann-Maddie-Gerry-Kate-alive-hidden-expert-Portugal
Apparently, this is an "exclusive". So why does it sound so familiar? Like almost 10 years of familiar?
I've merged this topic with the existing one about Dave's dross.

So we have OG who are supposed to be investigating the disappearance saying nothing and some one who couldn't find Madeleine saying something, says it all really.

It feels like he is desperately willing crackpots to come forward and keep the whole charade alive. Let's hope OG has gone beyond that and is getting close to the truth. Tick tock tick tock...

That could be a typo.
We've already had some crackpots W_u_d coming forward recently to keep the nonsense going - particularly that couple in Cyprus!
