Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
Oh my goodness, he's really getting himself into trouble, the Royals aren't going to like this.....
Meghan 'might be better off if I died' says her father Thomas Markle in explosive interview claiming Diana would have 'loathed the way he's been treated'

Not that I'm defending anyone who makes silly childish comments on someone's appearance but are they really a danger to anyone?
Threats of course are a different matter and should be taken seriously.

I presume he's being paid to talk to the press? He probably wants the money.

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
Archie!
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Archie means "genuine", "bold" and "brave", and is German in origin. Short for Archibald, it is now given as a name in its own right.
Harrison means "son of Harry" so is likely to be a tribute to the duke.
By deciding to call their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Harry and Meghan have chosen not to use a title for their first born.
As the first born son of a duke, Archie could have become Earl of Dumbarton - one of Harry's subsidiary titles - or have been Lord Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, but instead he will simply be Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

It's certainly different by royal standards. Thank heavens they didn't go for Archibald!

Spelling it out...?
The online Daily Mail today :
"Who're" for "who are", bang in the middle of the headline...?
Nasty.

Prince Harry and Meghan: the latest event to rock the monarchy
I can`t believe there isn`t a thread on the Meghan/Harry debarcle.
Love to hear others` thoughts on the Markle woman. Is she being supportive to a traumatised son of Diana or is she really the narcissist that is being portrayed by most.
I have two theories.

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
I've put this on a new topic, Mimi.
I avoid the mainstream media most of the time so it's difficult for me to have an opinion on this. I'll be interested to hear what others think of the story.

The Markles, i.e. Harry and Meghan
Has anyone taken an interest in the Duke and Duchess and their antics. The scandal is worse than Wallis Simpson who was an angel compared to Missy Markle. I've been watching them since they got married ; had a bad feeling about her.

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
I have been trying to keep an open mind and not be influenced by the media.
I don't think the situation is like the Wallis Simpson one myself - Harry is never likely to be king.

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
You're right, it doesn't have the same status connection as Edward, but in the fact of the reaction and damage to the Monarchy.
I've found it interesting how she often wears her hair like Wallis - is she trying to be her I wonder. Whatever, she will certainly go down in history.

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
My mother talked of the abdication crisis. It came as a complete shock to the ordinary members of the public as the British media hadn't mentioned it.
I asked her some 35 years after the event if she thought that Edward should have been allowed to marry Wallis and remain king (both were still alive then) as attitudes had changed over the years and things that seemed scandalous in the past were no longer so - and she was extremely adamant, no never!
She was somewhat set in her ways.

I'm no royalist but follow such things to take my mind off things like pandemics. I see megan as a breath of fresh air for the Royal Family. Half caste, divorced, slightly older than Harry and absolutely stunning to look at.
Don't believe the bullying accusations aout her. Probably cultural differences the most likely explanation. Americans have a 'can do' attitude whereas it probably takes hours to get a cup of tea in the palace as their protocols have to be followed!

Re: The Harry and Meghan saga
Hi Antonia. I agree she was seen as a breath of fresh air to begin with. The British people loved her, welcomed her as did The Queen and afforded her many more in roads than Kate ever had.
But things soon went downhill. I think we may have differing opinions as to why.
