Dr Amaral's Defence Funds

It suggests to me that some cop-shop somewhere has had a whip-round and the people organising it just made it up to the £1000 if there were odd pounds and pennies. We often do that for our events, we pass the hat round for charity and if I get, say £97 I'll just make it up to £100 and send it.

Not that it really matters, it's got everybody talking about it and if it's a hoax then it's a bloody good one! I'm inclined to believe it's actually real, though. My late Uncle was a very high-ranking copper and he didn't believe the McCanns' story either.

Whatever. For me it's quite uplifting and it's certainly rattling some ... ;-)
IMO support in any shape or form for Dr. Amaral is vital.

Someone that says they are from the media has just donated,they say that they know they did it (Mccanns) but cant prove it.

She did post some comments about the article but that doesn't mean she wrote it.

Yes, I can confirm that sadly this does appear to be the case but there is no suggestion that she was being harassed by the media or McCann supporters.

I bet there have been plenty of phone calls, emails written and plans afoot to make sure this support for Goncalo never gets in the media - I bet they`re in a real panic with CM issuing threats to all editors I imagine. I just hope they have the guts to tell him to p*** off.

On twitter is a statement which I will post and which is clearly a libel as it claims without evidence that Peter M, a retired senior police officer, has with malice aforethought collected monies from Amaral supporters and after adding a hefty sum of his own, has made a fraudulent donation and here is the hint > by the fraudulent donor under the name of MPS...suggesting that the group of supportive Brit policemen are from the very force involved in the Madeleine investigation.

Baulch was probably in on it - she can see who has made the donation and where the money comes from.
